Just reading up on the film on other threads, but it seems like mourning for Agent Coulson might be a little... premature.
And not in the "He's coming back as the Vision or an LMD" sort of way.

It would be very easy to bring him back. The medics arrived just as Agent Coulson stopped talking. Fury tells everyone the medics said Coulson passed, but it could have just been part of his lie to motivate the Avengers.
I sort of figured this would happen, but then Coulson got such a promotional push, I thought they weren't going to go there, and started to get interested in the character. I haven't seen the movie yet, but this kind of irritates me.
The movie actually did do a pretty darn good job of making you care about the character. That was one of the many aspects of the movie that I think they handled quite well.
Honestly as much as I was pissed at Loki killing him, as long as his death was mourned and no one forgot about him I really don't see the need to bring him back. I honestly can't understand the ridiculousness of the Vision/Captain Marvel rumor.

I'm torn. I liked Agent Coulson, thought his death was pretty well done. But I want him to still be around because Clark Gregg is awesome in all the Marvel (Well, the two or three he starred in) flicks.
Him being an LMD all along might satisfy me, but it would be bittersweet satisfaction.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!
If nihilism didn't take some delight in destruction one might suspect nihilists were an unnaturally morbid sort.
