Default Weaponer of Qward? (GL8 SPOILERS)

Has Brightest Day been retconned? Shouldn't he have had white constructs with him? I can't for the life of me remember what exactly happened after his arc in the last volume of GLC. It says he joined around a month ago assumably just after his arc, but can anyone remind me what ACTUALLY happened? On the white construct subject, have we even got confirmation of the White Entity even existing in this DCNU?

I dont recall the specifics of the story, but assuming he didnt loose the white lantern net at the end, I figure that it became a moot point when he joined the Corps.

For one thing, Sinestro would never allow the Weaponer to have access to two wavelengths of the spectrum, especially the White. Weaponer may have joined Sinestro, but those two are not allies. Giving up the white net may have been the price of joining.

And it's possible that when the Weaponer put on that power ring, the white net was absorbed by the yellow. The whole thing is based on the color wheel. Colors blur. Granted, this seems a bit more far fetched, but still possible. We are talking about sentient emotional wavelengths and rings that can make whatever you imagine real.

Though Brightest Day could have been erased. Not like any lasting effects are around. Green Arrow is totally different, Roy Harper is totally different. The JLI history is no more. BD could have happened to the Birds of Prey or Wonder Woman still, there is nothing to refute it that I know of, but clearly those events are not having any effect now.

Best not to think about it. Trying to make sense of the new DCU timeline makes the brain bleed. Best to just enjoy your comics and not worry over much about what came before.

Anything that happened on Earth didn't happen and anything that happened away from Earth did happen. It's as easy as that.

Batman and Green Lanterns are relatively unaffected by the Nu52 changes so I presume the White Entity still exists since its part of the whole Emotional Spectrum. Anyway, from what I remember, the Weaponer forged his weapons from a strand of White Lantern energy that Deadman used in a fight with the Anti-Monitor. He made the Shield that was paired with the Hammer which he used relatively well but it failed against Sinestro. So, Sinestro offered him a Power Ring and after then we never saw him. Now, we do see him with the Shield and Hammer in the issue but he is seemingly not using them. But its possible the White Lantern powers were gone when he became a Corpsmen or its possible he did use them but the Korugarians maybe became quite effective in hunting down Ring users so it didn't help him much. He was pretty much a fugitive but the Shield had the ability to transport between the Positive Matter and Anti-Matter Universes so if he did have it he had a means of escaping. But why he didn't? Maybe it will get explained later in New Guardians.

Wait so he had them? I didn't actually notice that.

In the issue, the part where he talks about him abandoning his Power Ring when Sinestro attacked, the last panel on the page shows him walking away with a shield and hammer. So, presumably he still has them but whether they worked like they used to is another question.
