Default Is it time for another wonder woman related book

Question is in the title. The bat family has a few books and the superverse has four books. With the reboot being so popular is it time for another book in the wonder woman's universe. Give Diana another more superhero focused book or one with donna Troy, cassie or a new side character.

I'm always game for more WW (assuming it's to my liking of course ).

But, if I were DC, I'd wait a few more months to see what the sales are for #13. If they level out well from now 'til then, go for it. They may also want to wait for Morrison's GN (that is still in the works, right?). And along those lines, rather than a second ongoing, I'd like to see some quality teams write some stand-alone stories (ala The Hiketeia, JLA: A League of One).

No. I've changed my stance. Another book will conflict with the main book in terms of ...whatever drama Azzarello is doing. And I feel Steve Trevor is just diverging away from Wonder Woman.

The entire DC universe is diverging away from Wonder Woman. "Wonder Girl" no longer has any relationship with her. She cannot have a supporting cast of her own now that is unrelated to the current storyline. No future characters relating to her background can be introduced. And she herself is physically removed from the DC universe, and to the extent that the gods are recurring villains, will not be a part of the shared universe for much of the time. She's been marginalized by design.

Good point. What about a comic about her earlier career, kind of like Morrison is doing in Action?

What do you mean? I'm a fan of Steve in JL; hope they keep it up. It's hasn't been Shakespeare, but it is good fun.

Well, it's been like that for almost two years; but I do think she was more a part of the DC universe in the Simone run and before. Power Girl, Black Canary, Green Lanterns, and other DC heroes were fairly regular presences. She fought quite a few gods and demons --- I'm tired of gods and demons --- but she fought villains too.

Simone's team-up issues were a lot of fun.

That thing is I started with Simone's run but discussions here show how the title has been a niche title of a niche form of entertainment.

Conflict with the nu52 initiative? And what approach is it going to take? Basic superheroine Wonder Woman? Speeches about equality? Sharing? Who is going to make the pitch.

About Steve, well I just think Steve is going his own way, away from his ties with Wonder Woman, Team 7 and spoilers in the DC FCBD kinda hint that. More power to him but I still want him as a supporting cast to Wonder Woman

lol. I think there are plenty of possibilities that don't involve speeches. Maybe we'll get more info in the upcoming #0, but I really want to see how she ended up in London and what she's been doing there.

Maybe Team 7 is just giving more depth and purpose to Steve? Doesn't mean he has to leave. Hope not, I want him around, too.

While I have myself complained that TT very often felt like it was taking place on another planet that the characters visited during the weekends, the degree of guest starring Simone did was too much. Yes it was kinda neat that she could call on others for assistance, but it shouldn't be Brave & the Bold where WW is teamed up with someone else for any given mission in her own book. Hmm actually that might work, a WW centered Brave & the Bold where she teams up with other people.

That said, I don't think she's been marginalized in the New52, this particular story means she goes through these things alone (for one it's really personal to her and secondly she is the best to handle the Greek Gods).
As for WG disassociation; thats Scott Lobdell's fault for wanting his characters to be more GRRR! and have less charm.

Partying? Have to admit I love seeing heroes on their downtime, when not in costume. Almost forgot about #0.

As Etta said Team 7 is close and Amanda Waller as I recall is part of Team 7, also about that "Black Room" spoiled in FCBD. Steve is just doing many things unrelated to Wonder Woman. Also she dumped him.

Honestly, now is sort of the good time. The book right now seems to have a momentum and to have a much better reputation than it had in years (after all, it did won the Thunderdome contest about the better book). If they wait again, they take the chance of the momentum being lost (due to a lackluster ending, an arc fatigue, just readers losing interest, whatever...) before the second book had the time to establish itself. As forf the content of the book itself, well, Dr Hurt once pitched a story about her origins, with the idea of making it like an adventure book about a young enthusiastic Diana travelling the world, and basically said "like Legend of Zelda". I was hooked the moment he said that, being a Zelda fan and all. Maybe the "contest" (which doesn't make sense, since Diana clearly has superpowers and the others don't) should be replaced by a series of trials where she would gain her main items (bracelets, tiara, lasso). Could be fun.
