I read many reviews before buying the first issue and was waiting for something more sophisticated. I liked the art and the mystery around the murder was not bad, but the dialogue was corny and quite undynamic. There was also a moment of slight embarrassment for the writer when Bobby praises Pink Floyd. It sounded like someone had heard Pink Floyd for the first time.

I'm a fervent supporter of Mind the Gap. I love the art, the characters all seem different enough and the mystery is intriguing. But it's still a little early to tell as it has only been 2 issues. There's still a long way to go! I've enjoyed both so far, though.

I wouldn't say I'm a fervent supporter, but you do sum up my own opinion fairly well.

Esquejo's art is good, it's coloured well (I completely forgot the name of the artist - Sonia Obeck?), and the writing isn't bad - I just fear it's going to do a Morning Glories and be an overly-complicated, nuanced series that doesn't make much sense for 20+ issues. I mean I'm a Morning Glories fan but I'll be damned if I know what's going on most of the time. I think now we're two issues in, I'm going to drop back and wait for trades to see what happens. This whole "look out for X, Y or Z" aspect is kinda cool but at the same time it seems like it's going to take a LOT of investment to work everything out.

I'm on three supernatural/weirdy books from Image now. Mind the Gap, Whispers and Morning Glories. My poor brain. Can't help but feel they're going a little overboard with these kinds of books, though. It seems like everyone and their dog is doing one from Image at the moment, and there's even more coming.

Oh, glad to see a diverse cast in a comic without them even hinting at making a deal of it. +1 to McCann, Esquejo et al for that.

I got into this for a couple of reasons. One, a HUGE first issue. Gigantic. I read. and read. and then I read a little while more. and I read. and I finally figured out, this is a big-ass comic. Huge value for the $2.99.

Second. I like Agatha Christie and this has a very "Agatha Christie meets the X-Files" vibe to it. That will get me for at least a couple issues.

Third. I liked that the characters weren't likable. There isn't someone I'm clearly supposed to cheer for. I'm interested in what happens because the story is compelling with characters that don't seem especially heroic. I like that it's story driven.

Is it the best thing I've read this year? Well, no. Invincible is the comic of the year so far to me, and I'm not sure it's even close. But this is definitely in my "I'll keep getting unless something significant changes," list.

(Edited to add) - The comic it reminds me most of is actually Fatale, in that it's a fantastical mystery. I currently like it more than Fatale, but I need to re-read Fatale to keep everything straight in my head.

I enjoyed the first two issues so far and I think I'll like this series in the long run. The artwork is what attracted me at first (I also collect MORNING GLORIES and I love those covers) and then when I found out it was a murder mystery I knew I had to pick this title up. I find nothing wrong with the characterizations. I think they are purposely done this way to keep us guessing, which I like. I'm looking forward to more.

I'm buying the same books and I love them all.

MG is my favorite (although it has slowed down a bit), but the new books of the year for me are THIEF OF THIEVES and PETER PANZERFAUST.

I'm new to Image and I'm loving every minute of it!

There does come a point where it should stop pointing fingers and dropping red herrings and just provide us with a solid piece of story and characterisation. For the first two issues it works, and that's what I've liked about them. They really lay down the setting and build the world but I hope that's not how it goes for the first five issues.

I like the book, but the art direction of the thing is off. Like the pencils and the actual "art itself' is really good, but I really wish they used less computer tricks and wacky fonts. I wish there was a cleaner palette of colors. The artistic style of the book is not cohesive.

Hey folks! Don't forget that issue 3 is out today! There are still some elements of the "world" to be laid out in this issue, but some hints as to answers that will be coming up rather soon as well. And a killer 2 pg spread that freaks me out!

    As always, thanks for reading!

Picked up all 3 yesterday at my LCS and I just finished reading them. Going to have my wife read them and see what she thinks. I'm definitely interested in the characters and the mystery. Will definitely be added to my small, Image dominated pull list!

    Great job so far Jim.

My biggest concern is the longevity of this story. Is there enough substance to keep this mystery going for the duration of the series? I sure hope so.

Read the first 3 and the art is great, but the story just hasnt hooked me yet. Maybe give it another issue or two but if it doesnt get good soon, its gonna get dropped.

Through the frst three issues and I can say that I like it. The art & story is good enough to keep me onboard till the end. Which might be closer than people think, I read somewhere that McCann has the story already plotted out and that he has said that he doesn't want to stick around and invent things just to keep the story going.

I don't buy many singles but I pre-ordered the trade based on all the word of mouth. It'll be a few months but I am excited for this.
