Before I get started, I liked the movie, but I wouldn't give it any higher than a low B, and that might change after I see it again.

The first half was really boring and dragged on. I didn't feel like anything was happening. Also the dialog was way to "Whedony." I got tired of Tony's witty retorts fast, and when Thor did it, it was painful. Cap's lines were pretty great. The movie emotionally resonated with me, though, and the second half was phenomenal. If it weren't for the boring first half and Whedon trying to hard, it would have been great.

Thor was "nice swing, Point Break." And his Shakepeare in the park taunt and "wearing your mother's robes comment were great...

Loki was Reindeer Games, Rock of Ages... had a "glowstick of destiny."

There were more, but I can't think of them. This movie was pretty hilarious.
He called Clint Legolas when Clint wanted a lift after Cap gave his orders.

That was one HELL OF A GREAT MOVIE!!!!!
I haven't been this entertained for my bucks in years.
    DAMN that was great!
This is one of those movies I'd like to see again and again to catch everything I missed the first time.
The ending with the Hulk was just perfect. I wasn't sure how he was going to be played but that "I'm angry all the time." line just sealed the deal.
My boys LOVED it...even though I thought all the killing going on would be bad for anyone younger then them and I saw quite a few younger. The kids can't agree on their favorite line in the movie, there were so many good ones.
"PUny god!" I think was mine, but if I see the movie again I might lean more to another one. I think that scene was soo...well done. The pause in the middle of Hulk doing his thing, just long enough to see the expression was priceless.

THIS WAS ONE GREAT MOVIE!!! OH YEAH!!!!

    A+ from me.
The quibbles were so minor and nitpicky they're not even worth mentioning.
Avengers was "my comic" since like 1968, so it was nice to see it on screen taking the best of the regular Marvel U, the Ultimates and the Film Universe and combining them all so well.

Funny thing here is that i saw a couple reviews before seeing it and they kept talking about the humour and i got scared cause i thought Whedon was going to bring his fast-talk-plus-jokes style we've see in Buffy, Angel, and Firefly, which i HATED in Firefly, but i didnt see it here. I only really "felt it" when Iron Man was talking but it didnt take me out because he was written like that in his movies.

The only time it dragged for me was in the middle during the Helicarrier scene, that could have really been cut down easily. And i didnt like the presentation of the villains here.

    Out of 5 i would give it a 3.

Last night was one of the best days of my life! I grew up reading the Avengers and could only dream of a movie like the one I saw. For 2 and half hours i felt like a kid living a dream. It was perfect and I'm so glad that Joss Whedon took the lead on this. He is a true comic book fan and I knew that he had a great imagination from what he did with Buffy. Him and the actors put so much heart into this masterpiece. I have struggled for years to figure out what was my favorite movie, now i can definitively say The Avengers tops them all. Regardless to whatever critical comments anyones makes, no one could have done better!! This movie is epic and I'm a truly satisfied Avengers fanatic. I just hope they come out with a new marvel alliance and i look forward to the new season of worlds mightiest heroes!! This is the beginning of many great things to come for true Avengers fans!! Avengers Assemble!!

A little disappointed Captain America did not yell "Avengers Assemble!" but overall, will see again in theaters undoubtedly.

Basically a perfect movie. 10/10 easily. Great pacing, excellent dialogue, worldview issues were brought up, but in a manner that were interesting...but not in a "Dark Knight taking itself too seriously which makes you exhausted at the end of the film" type way. Characters each had great moments and excellent fights. Hearing the "Assemble" cry would have been nice...but something needs to happen in the sequel:]

This film went above and beyond the hype.In my opinion it is the greatest comic book film ever made. The balance between humor, drama, and action was well timed. Each character brought something unique to the table and played this poker game to perfection. The bar is set so high now for every comic film that follows.Marvel has without a shadow of a doubt established their flagship franchise for years to come.We have now witnessed a changing of the guard that will impact comics and films for years. It does not matter anymore if the average person knows Cap,Iron Man,or Thor for they will be household names for quite some time and I see no way possible for Fox and the X-Men or Warner Bros. with Justice League standing any chance of competing with this rock solid entry. The game has changed forever and we where lucky enough to see it.
