Curious what you guys thought of the 3D? I am going to see this Wednesday night and wasnt sure if the 3D is worth it. I found Thor's 3D really bad (didnt see captain america in 3D). I know this wasnt shot in 3D, so i have some worries on if its worth it.

    Thanks!

When Iron Man seemed to be down for the count near the end of the film, Hulk seemed to be the one most concerned/upset by it. It looks like Dr. Banner just might take up Stark's offer to work for Stark Enterprises. It's likely because as the only two scientific geniuses in the group, they "get" each other more than the others do. They also both know a little something about struggling with personal demons.

Didn't Stark also invite Banner to stay at Stark Tower? "The top 10 floors are all R&D."

As for Loki's motivation, it's worth pointing out that he's also the God of Mischief, so even though his plan to rule the Earth failed, he seemed somewhat satisfied in blowing up Manhattan, pissing off Thor, smashing Stark's building, and generally causing everyone problems. In that respect, he reminded me a little of the Joker.

Stark and Banner also drove off together in Tony's car at the end of the movie. I think the implication is that Stark might have hired Banner to work for him in Stark R&D.

I thought it was mediocre and did not live up to the hype. I really wanted to enjoy this movie, but i didn't. The plot was very bad, Cap, Black Widow, and Hawkeye were a bore fest. Loki was dumbed down and written poorly. He was MUCH better in Thor, and it was depressing to see that character go to waste, especially when Hiddleston, who is such a great actor, is wasted too. The writing was just over all bad, and even the good actors that were in the movie fell victim of the stupid one liners. Although, I must admit that Hiddleston and Downey are such great actors that they made their one liners work. The plot is very shallow and boring. Cap's new costume was terrible.

What did you want the movie to be about? What did you want Cap, Black Widow, and Hawkeye to do?

I would have liked the overall story to be more interesting and not so mindless. There were to many cheesy moments that I found myself rolling my eyes at. I thought Thor and X-Men first class were enjoyable, but this wasn't. Cap, Black Widow, and Hawkeye could probably just use a better actor to play them.

Well first of all youre going to have to make the gap between story and plot, something most movies dont do. This is just me talking but the plot is the alien invasion and Loki. The story is the Avengers coming together and forming a single force to protect the world. While the plot wasnt great it also wasnt important. It could have been any threat. The important thing was the Avengers coming together. This is why the conflicts between them (which you also didnt like) were quite neccessary. Its why the dialogue of this movie was so good and important. A lot of people did not see this (maybe its not the case and its just me who sees it).

The cheesy moments, assuming we are talking about the same ones, are probably just Joss doing what he does. Its like giving out about Cabin in the Woods being too cheesy or cliche.

Finally Hawkeye and Black Widow were pretty awesome and are shaping up nicely to have their own film in the future. A lot of people really enjoyed them and ScarJo and Jeremy did really good jobs. Also please don't bad mouth Jeremy (personal favourite of mine :) )

Anyway thats all just my opinions and views. You obviously dont share them but thought Id try give more insight.

You gotta see this... the SHSO game updated all their Avengers to match the movie:

Just saw it in 2D. Didn't think it needed 3D. And a couple fight scenes were dark, so in 3D they might be harder to see.

I went VERY skeptical. See I didn't like the movies with Captain America, I didn't like Thor, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2. I was particularly disatisfied with a lot of the casting from those movies. But Avengers not only completly blew me away but all the actors that I didn't like playing those parts magically "got it" for Avengers. It was a great writing and acting turnaround and I wouldn't be surprised if Joss Whedon was behind the change. As a geek himself, he knows how the characters really are and I think he revealed himself to be a top notch director of actors. Look at Black Widow and how bland she was in Iron Man 2 and look how the tons of character moments fleshed out the character in this. It was like night and day.

I saw it in 3-D and there was no dark fight scenes, save the forest melée, and everything was clearly visible. When I see it again, I'm going to see it in 2-D, because, like you, I'm sure it works fine that way.
