As is typical of times like these, at least we all have what he left for us.

I was surprised he was 47. The Beastie Boys were the type of band you always saw as young 20 something kids. Such a shame he passed at 47. RIP MCA.

    OK, 2nd thought:

Well, they produced a nice body of work culminating in a really cool concert movie, they remained consistently creative though the years, they ultimately used their powers for good, and they finally came to terms with their past ... I'd say they did all right.

Who knows what the future will bring?

    R.I.P., MCA.

I was shocked to read this, truly sorry to hear of this terrible news. I had no idea he was ill, I don't really follow music news these days. But I had a couple of their albums, and always had the highest respect for them , as artists, and for their dedication to raising awareness and doing benefits for the worthy cause they believed in.
I heard one of their great instrumental tracks from 'ill communication' in a movie today as well.
My condolences to his family and friends. He was one of the greats, and it goes without saying that his band will go down in history along with all the great pioneers of popular music, they were not only innovative, but extremely entertaining. As well as being serious musicians, they were also one of those bands whose sense of humour translated well into their music and videos, and were as funny as the best of the stand up comics.

    R.I.P. Adam Yauch

This sad cause he was always my favorite Beastie i guess cause he stood out so much and i guess apparently he was the one who was most active with the whole religious/political thing they got into.

One wonders what's gonna happen to the group now? it's not like a guitar player that you can just replace.

    This one hit me hard.
I love MCA and the Beastie Boys. Grew up listening to them, as they got older and their music and interests matured with them. Paul's Boutique is one of the greatest (and among my very favorite) albums of all-time. This guy was a pure artist, a tremendous talent. Gonna miss him, we all know he's the Ace!
