Digital Comic Resources: Mark Waid Unleashes Thrillbent
In a week when Mark Waid's Thrillbent.com launch was on everyone's minds, Valiant went digital-exclusive with comiXology, Panelfly got an overhaul and 215 Ink plans to give away tablets if you buy its comics.
I really hope the things that Mark Waid is trying catch on to the mainstream. There's really no downside to making something that works well in both digital AND print from the outset, so that no matter how you read it, you're getting an optimal experience. While it seems like some creators at Marvel, DC, etc. appear to have thought about this in recent issues, many obviously haven't. Sometimes the panels in Comixology are so oddly shaped, that it becomes difficult to read in guided view. I know print purists would say "well, that's what you get", but it doesn't have to be that way. We can both get what we want.
