Looks like they're only going to do the first two issues for the first part, and Batman wore something more akin to the traditional costume during those two parts.

Also, I need to watch this, like, right NOW.

in one of those screen grabs you can see it's there. it's only on the black suit, though, remember?

It was decent. The animation was great, but the fact that it's not Kevin Conroy doing the voice of Batman, just kills it for me. And, on top of that, Ben McKenzie was terrible. He literally sounds like he was reading off of cue cards, with absolutely no emotion. What is DC thinking when they adapt a classic comic to animation, and then they don't use Conroy's voice as Batman? It just makes no sense to me. If it's the "Younger Bruce" argument, Conroy had no problem doing a younger Bruce Wayne in "Mask of the Phantasm", so that is null and void. If DC's gonna adapt their most classic stories to animation, they should be using the VOICES of these characters (Conroy and Hamill), always. If Hamill doesn't want to do it, you keep throwing money at him until he says "okay".

You have to consider that Mask of the Phantasm was done around 20 years ago, and when you consider his attempt at that in Gotham Knight, especially with bushi-Bruce, I don't think that was a good fit.

That said, the guy they got to play Batman in Year One wasn't the best at the role. Thankfully Bryan Cranston was able to steal the show as Gordon.

That said, if Conroy and Hamill are too busy or don't want to do it, I'd be more than happy with John DiMaggio as Joker & Bruce Greenwood as Batman

Releasing the first two chapters as Part 1 actually works out great for me, as I prefer the those chapters well over the book's final two. The screen shots look good, I wasn't able to watch the trailer.

Yeah, I agree. I actually enjoyed John DiMaggio's take on The Joker. I'd take Hamill any day over him, but he did a good enough job. But, for movies like this, when it's their most classic stories being told, I just feel it should be their most classic voice actors should be supporting the voices.

They can easily alter his voice, after the fact, in the studio. They do it in South Park all the time. Trey Parker is recording Cartman, it sounds nothing like Cartman. They actually go into the studio and rework it to get the voice. So, I'm sure they can knock a few years off of Conroy's voice.

If they do that much modification to Conroy's voice what is the point of getting him in the first place? I think some fans need to accept that Conroy and Hamill won't be around to do the voices forever and may not even what to. If you can't be a little more open to variation in voices (that means more than being okay with just Greenwood and DiMaggio) you're going to end up being constantly disappointed.

Both Conroy & Hamill are wrong for Miller's takes anyhow.

Dumb cash grab. Alan Moore was right, some things work best as comic books and comic books only.

Conroy just finished recording his lines for "Flashpoint" and Hamill is retired from playing the Joker. The reason that the voice actors aren't always the DCAU actors has to do with the fact that Timm and company like to change it up from time to time. As does the upper brass at Warner Animation and Warner Premiere.
