Default Magik vs Strange: How do you think it went?

Since we never got to see it, how would you guess the fight between Stephen Strange and Illyana Rasputina played out?

    I'm imagining the scene...

STRANGE: You must know I would easily track you to limbo...

MAGIK: Oh, I was counting on it.

On realising the trap STRANGE conjures up a bottle of champagne and a hamper of delicious nibbles.

STRANGE: Then perhaps we might take advantage of the situation... together?

By the looks of it before the scene change Magik probably had her demons attack Strange to split his focus and then somewhere along the way took him down when his guard was down/open. Doubt it was a fair fight by any means.

    It went down rather easily.

She sent her guards after him in limbo and because she can be a bit of a B., cancelled his powers a bit while they pummeled him into submission. Though Dr. Strange easily dispatched a few with his martial arts skillz. She then tapped into his powers so she could use them to her benefit back on earth and pulled a switcharoo. The combination of Wolverine seeing through the deception and Strange waking up broke her hold and she teleported away.

I can';t wait to see how she takes on Widow!!

I think it's impossible to answer because it depends on Strange's power level and that depends on who's writing him, how much they know about his history and abilities, and what their intent is at the moment. If the writers intend to portray him as a virtual magical weakling while he isn't Sorcerer Supreme, then I'd say that Magik probably took him out immediately. If the writers are aware that he was able to defeat major players like Dormammu in the past while he wasn't Sorcerer Supreme, then I'd say that Strange likely would have won this fight but something unforseen happened.

Since I honestly don't think that Marvel as a whole knows what they're doing with this character, I think it's best that the fight happened off-page and everyone can fill in the blanks for themselves about how the fight went. The Strange fans can think that he put up a decent fight. The Magik fans can think that she kicked his butt and everyone will be happy.

It will be interesting to see if they do show some/all of this fight in some other issue. I'm not buying this series but I'm interested to see if it's actually going to lead to any real changes in the MU.

I imagine it went something like this:

Marvel architechts basking in their own awsomeness.

MA1 - So, who do you guys want to piss today? X-fans or Avengers fans?
    MA2 - I don't know. Flip a coin.
MA1 - Okay, Heads we piss off X-fans, tails, we piss off Avengers fans...

    Guess which side came up.

    Peace

Do you think Magik is dim witted enough to fight fair? She is a hell-lord in her own domain if she worried about Fair she would have died long ago.

Adults who fight fair are idiots.

Strange is the enemy hit him as and as possible and show some mercy if he live through it, the stakes are too high for playground BS like "fair"

Sad to say, I have to agree. Magic is seldom about fighting fair. Strange has impossibly powerful enemies who can be tricked or shamed into fighting 'fair' and he always takes advantage of that. (He has to, or he wouldn't survive.) He wouldn't have killed Illyana, but then she can't assume that. And she apparently wouldn't have killed him, since she didn't leave him to rot in Limbo.

Come to think of it, why didn't she do that?

I still wonder what the purpose of her "make it look like I lost" maneuver was. Did she plan to be a mole with the Avengers, or was it more of a way to test the waters since she didn't know which side would be winning when she returned?

I think Magik fans would actually rather that Strange put up a great fight... but that Magik has matured to the point that she could take him out in her own realm. She's essentially a hell lord, and Strange does defeat those guys on their own turf, but usually by them being stupid and wanting to "toy" with them. Magik isn't like that. Maybe because she started off human and became a hell lord, rather than being an abstract entity, she would have no problem letting 500 demons weaken him and then coming in for the knockout.

Neither as the coin fell into a crack in the table, got stuck and no one felt like looking for another quarter so they decided that the whole thing would be off-page thus screwing with everyone, though the Avengers fans got screwed over even more since Doctor Strange lost.
Holding out for a Peter/Miles team up.

Strange let me down, but Black Widow won't. That bitch don't play. Widow sting!
