Default It's An Alternate Reality. Avengers Did Not Come Out Today...So...

But we still have Spider-Man and Batman coming out in a few months. How much less happy are we?

I live in this alternate reality, as Avengers came out a week ago here.

Less, but that is still a pretty good summer for superhero fans. I would be very excited for those two even without Avengers. In fact, probably more so. I think that the excitement around Avengers has dampened the excitement for the others.

So in your alternate reality I think we are less excited but not as much less as we should be.

Actually, a couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity of seeing again Batman Begins and the Dark Knight, and was reminded of how good they are, so I guess I was already more anxious to see the third Batrman movie. Still, went to see Avengers last week. Thought the stories of Iron Man I, Thor and even Captain America more intresting, but the film sure doesn't disappoint. It's a fanboy wet dream. Really fun, I liked it. But Batman was always the #1 film to see for me this year. Avengers came in close second, followed by MIB III and then Spider-Man.

    Peace

I've never cared for Bane in the comics, and I find the movies redesign to be less then inspired. Spider-Man's retelling the origin again, which isn't really my thing, but the aerial web slinging shots look good. (Plus, Emma Stone is cute.) Avengers is really the movie I'm looking forward to the most this year.

I live in the reality wherein the Avengers movie does not determine my state of happiness.

I'm quite happy. It came out last week so it's release today is meaningless for me :)

I enjoyed it a great deal, was quietly amused that the scene which made the whole cinema bellow with laughter was the severe and brutal beating of a character, and I exclaimed "Holy Shit" at the post-credits plot reveal loud enough for people to giggle and stare.

    I give it an eleventy.
