What's the Deal with Night of the Owls??

I understand that night of the owls is supposed to be a huge crossover story in the new 52 but what I'm wondering is this: will is be able to stick to just reading batman and Nightwing or am I going to have to start also picking up select issues of certain bat titles to follow what's going on in the story?

Each series tie in is self contained. Batman needs only Batman, Nightwing only Nightwing, Red Hood only Red Hood etc etc. Batman contains the main story but each other series gives the general gist and a villain for an issue, except for Nightwing which is more involved in the crossover.

Phew. That's a bit of a relief. I was getting worried there for a second that to keep up with the story I was going to wind up having to pick up all the bat titles just to follow what was going on.

Yeah, it's basically a Batman story that's being crowbarred into the other Batbooks.

The best part of this crossover is that DC is not making you to buy all the batbooks to understand and enjoy it altough Batman, and to some extent Nightwing, will deal with the main story.

Batman and Nightwing are both already on my pull list already. I guess I'm good then.
