I don't have the issue in front of me, but did I read this right? They skipped ahead a year but are still 4 years behind us?

Pull List; seems to be too long to fit in my sig...
Seems like they skipped ahead at most a month or two, though it does mention something about "election-oh-eight", so I guess they are 4 years behind us. I don't remember that being established before, but maybe I missed it.
As I thought, Butcher's gone completely off the deep end, and that'll likely bring him into direct conflict with Hughie and the rest of The Boys. Going to suck to see them have to take him down, but Ennis has been foreshadowing this for some time. Unless he has some other twist up his sleeve (which isn't unlikely) it doesn't look like Butcher will last the series.
Of course Ennis, being the asshole he is, could completely flip that and have Butcher slaughter everyone else and walk into the sunset smiling. Never can tell with him, but I'm looking forward to finding out.
While I should have expected it, I was still surprised. Butcher as the bad guy for the last story arc. Butcher taking out any super powered folks still left. The killing of Vas was shocking. A great character, just gone. I suspect the Frenchman and the Female are next. Butcher is clearly setting up Hughie. He wants Hughie to be the one to take him out. You know he will go after Annie soon.
In complete agreement with you on this. I could see him offing all the supes so Vas wasn't much of a shock. I see Annie surviving, can't see Butcher wanting Hughie to go through losing his other half twice, particularly given the paralells between the two of them.
Pretty certain Hughie is the only one he'll "trust" with having compound V in him. Hughie for the win!
I'd have to agree. Say what you will about Hughie, one thing he's inarguably had and kept is an unwavering moral compass. Plus it would make more sense as to why Butcher's been trying so hard to "toughen up" him up, then wouldn't let him join the battle against Homelander and Black Noir. He wanted Hughie alive and spry for the end game.
I do think Hughie may be the only "supe" that makes it out alive. I also think the only thing that could push Hughie into killing Butcher would be Annie's death at Butcher's hands. Also looking forward to M.M. vs. Butcher, which if it happens promises to be fucking brutal.
I don't understand how Butcher could hope to eliminate ALL supes. Didn't he say in one of the first issues that there's over 200.000 of them world-wide?
