Cool CBR's: DC Power Chart and Ranking (Post Flashpoint)

I know this tends to be more of a marvel thing with the handbooks and such, but I thought it would be fun to do CBR DC version. Additionally I thought it would be simpler if we just did it with DCnU characters. And we can update the list as we continue to learn more about this new universe.

    DC Universe Power Scale

    Categories
Please give a statement as to why you ranked characters where you do. These statements can be brief.

    • Strength
      • So just raw strength. How much a character can lift how hard can they punch and kick etc. Guys like Superman would be number one. Lets break characters up into 3 or 4 different levels.
        • Normal Human, so street level guys like Batman and Green Arrow with no superhuman level strength.
        • Midtier- Level, so guys like Aquaman, maybe Cyborg. Not as strong as Superman but clearly superhuman, strong enough to lift up a truck
        • Elite- Characters like Superman, maybe Martian Manhunter
        • Absurd- basically just Darkseid at this point, or anyone we can say is clearly above Superman, team wrecking status, maybe this new Nightmare guy in the upcoming Justice League arc

    • Durability
      • Basically how durable a character is. You can rank this similarly to strength I guess. We know Superman is one of the most durable characters. Than you have characters like Aquaman who can withstand fire from an automatic weapon and walk away with a few scratches. Rank this as best as you can.

    • Energy Projection (Force/Strength)
      • How strong an energy attack is, blast or otherwise. This would include characters such as: Lantern Corps Members, Superman, Static, Cyborg, Martian Man Hunter, Captain Atom, Firestorms, Blue Beetle, Superboy. And Feel free to include magic characters

    • Energy Projection (Manipulation)
      • The degree characters can manipulate forms of energy. So Green Lantern Energy Constructs, characters like Bunker, Static, magic characters etc.

    • Magic
      • This one might be a little harder to rank. I'd expect characters like Zatana, Constantine, Etrigan, that vampire guy and Deadman to be on this list. Just try to rank characters by

    • Speed
      • How fast a character is. Obviously guys like Superman and Flash will be at the top of this list. You don't have to get overly detailed here and list every character. Lets just focus on the characters with superhuman speed. For the none superhumans I think speed is kind of negligible. Basically I don't want to see the whole Bat family on here, especially with all the Batman Inc members. I mean you can rank them if you like but I'm not putting them on the master list, they should all be roughly the same. Maybe I'll just have a spot specifically foe Batfamily members

    • Agility
      • How agile characters are. I'd expect heroes like Nightwing and Nightrunner to be at the top of this list.

    • Body manipulation
      • characters who can manipulate their anatomy. Element Woman would probably rank #1 here. Other characters who would fall into this category are people like Voodoo or Spore (the villain from Justice League)

    • Regeneration
      • How quickly a character is able to heal or if they are able to regenerate limbs etc. I can't think of any DC character off the top of my head. If you guys can't think of anyone who falls within this category than will just nix it.

*I don't want to do martial arts skill because I feel that category gets a little subjective and can vary according to writers and certain stories. I started a thread on ranking characters intelligence in the DCnU already, but similar hand to hand skill I find that it is to hard to asses, especially with only 8 months of this new universe in the books. If you guys really want to do h2h skill and intelligence rankings than maybe we can do those later, but for now lets just keep it to the aforementioned categories.

We're not going to do looks or costumes or anything like that cause that would just obviously be subjective

Please rank as many Post Flashpoint DC characters you can that would apply to the given category. If you can think of a category I've overlooked let me know I'll add it. Lastly, I will be tallying everyone's rankings and posting a master list for the characters their is a rough consensus on. Try to rank characters in a logical manner. You can either divide them into subcategories from strongest to weakest or best to worst, or come up with some sort of number ranking from 1 to 10 or 1 to 100. Just some sort of ranking thats easy to comprehend. Also feel free to change your mind and edit your rankings. I'll continue to update this indefinitely, and I may create new threads to rank each category if this thread gets a lot of replies. Have fun!!!!

DC fans do this as well. I never got the whole Marvel vs DC fan concept myself. I read titles from both companies.

I would say she's still elite in strength, though midpoint in durability. She's been seen holding an airplane up in Justice League, though there haven't been all that many feats of strength in her own title. I would also rank her as Agile; that's definitely in both titles.

    Regeneration
    • Voodoo?

I'm pretty sure swamp thing can regenerate, as he's made mostly from plant matter. I also think Superman can, because in the second issue (i think) of Action Comics he heals incredibly quickly (one of the military scientists says something like "his body is repairing itself right in front of my eyes") after being tortured. Not sure if that counts as regeneration though.

I'm pretty sure he's magic based, but you could interpret the Green as a scientific thing I suppose.

Everyone feel free to make your own lists and rankings I'm not reading all the 52 titles, and I'm not basing this list off of anything Pre-Flashpoint
