I would like to see the current interpretation of Brainiac to appear in a new Superman cartoon, it's just creepily cool to ignore it. And I agree that having Glenmorgan as the corrupt businessman and as Mr. Metropolis frees up Lex to be like his pre-crisis incarnation but more evil and ruthless.
For many, many fans and me Superman is defined by the JusticeLeague cartoon and defined by Reeve in the Donner-verse movies, Superman and Superman II
Man of Steel will do Average at the box office, its influence on the overall brand will be small not smallville small but more like the Hulk movies, GhostRider or Daredevil movies
It will make some money and thankfully not be a box office flop like Hex and Catwoman
Critics of Man of Steel in the opening weeks will wonder if its a box office turkey, its budget is not managed well, expensive CGI, expensive actors, expensive sets but overseas ticket sales and dvd sales will help TimeWarner and Dc turn profit.
Superman is DCAU and is Christopher D'Olier Reeve
