    Default X-Factor #235 spoilers

In between all the AVX madness, some Peter David X-factor shenaniganism that brings a smile to your face!

    This issue:
The story of how x-factor gets involved in finding out who is killing of " hero's" in Seattle and the first glimpse of the killer ( who looks a bit like a bad mofo form the world of mojo)

Havok and Madrox discuss how to run the business.
Longshots suffers a loss and Shaterstar is pissed.
Guido makes sure everyone understands he has no soul and is a movie critique.
Apparently X-factor can block M's credit card.
Nobody but Havok believes in the police
And even regular human losers who play mutant hero in their mom's basement are capable of enormous heroism. As a guy who gets ripped to shreds in the streets of seattle somehow crawls back ,through crowded streets, to his home, to die on the front porch in front of his mom. Who then somehow arrives in New York to get x-factor even before the guys fellow superhero wannabes know he is dead.

Great issue! loved it. Can't wait for next issue.

I'm interested in finding out what the deal with Longshot/Shatterstar is and I'm loving the tension between Madrox and Havok. Polaris taking Madrox's side made the argument seem like Madrox won't just be bullied around. A good start for a two part story! that villain was pretty odd though. Not sure how I feel about him.

I'm for any story that features Longshot using his psychometry and/or ending up in a coma.

The whole Havok/Madrox rivalry hasn't been handled well this far IMO. Havok was a dick to Madrox last issue and now he doesn't make any sense. Like, the police ? Seriously ?

I think he's meant to look like a Liefeld creation. Check out the ponytail, the belts, shoulderpads, sword 'n guns - he's like nega-Shatterstar. Hell, his feet are even hidden in the final panel, one of Robbie's well known artistic crutches (this is a stretch, but I'll take it). This is world class trolling folks, worth the cover charge alone.

Well, at first it did look like an ordinary human crime.

Loved the issue and the usual PAD brilliance at funny one-liners. Monet was rather good-looking here, but I do prefer Lupacchino over Kirk on this book.

Madrox waited all of two issues before he invoked the name of Scott to try and get Alex to get off his nuts... I mean, if there was ever a line to cross to rankle Havok, that's it.

I thought it was a really great issue. As I've mentioned before, the premise to this arc is genius. I love that the cult of real-life superheroes is being drawn into a comicbook.

In true Summers form, Alex is a massive dick. He was brought in to fill the void when Madrox was gone, and now he's back there's no need for him to take charge. He hasn't earned the right to assume control of this X-Factor, and a better man would take a step back rather than force his regime on to others. He should be grateful that Jamie is even entertaining the idea of letting him lead on certain missions. Thankfully, Lorna had the decency to reign him in. It's an interesting dynamic to watch play out. I feel it'll be something of a slow burn, but I'm enjoying the tension between the two of them, and it's fun to see Jamie dismiss Alex's confrontation, causing him only more rage.

The "documentary" scene was my favourite part. Kirk's art is wonderful. It's so expressive, I've really fallen for it. The Liefeld trolling in Scattershot's design was genius. My only complaint (and it's a minor one) is that Monet should have probably been in civilian clothes if she had just been out shopping.

Over the last three issues, PAD has successfully demonstrated that any complaints about the cast being "bloated" clearly aren't legitimate. Everyone has had their moment, and yes, while certain characters may be somewhat lacking in focus (Polaris, so far), a balance is always established in the long run, for exmaple: Layla-centric issue, followed by this issue in which she didn't appear. Rahne's not had much to say for a while, but we've just recently ended an arc where she was the focal point, etc.

I'd like to see Lorna a little more integrated with the team, but that'll come with the road-trip issue.

All in all, I'm glad to see X-Factor hold its own against AvX which despite my initial feelings, is now vying for my affection.

To be fair Alex IS channeling his brother in the control freak department. I wonder how long it's going to be before someone (Syrin or M) calls him on his bullshit. Also, where was Layla this issue ?

Havok was pissing me off in this issue by being a complete ass again and still thinking hes still in charge. Im glad Madrox didnt take that and showed hime he isnt the same like when the team was back in the day under the governments fun. and seriously havok going along with madrox would of been stupid since he stands out in his costume same goes for polaris the costumes have to go and havok should just settle on being madrox's second in command

As usual, I agree with most of what you say. Great read and interesting plot. I like that the focus right now seems to be in Shatterstar. The juggling of the cast is perfect. More Lorna would be nice, but other than that, thumbs up.

That said, I think PAD is going out of his way to portray Havok as an ass. I hope there's some payoff to his behavior, because right now it kinda seems like Alex is there to make Jamie look good.

I wouldn't say Alex is being an ass. I think its more of he's sort of lost in how to handle this situation. The guy was dead, he was given X-Force, he probably already planned on turning things to how they used to be, and then wham, there's Jamie. So he gets a bit terretorial with Jamie, but he's pretty much just trying to make the best of their new situation. I think its very telling how he tries to reassure Maddrox that what happened to Longshot wasn't his fault, so he is trying to work with him.

I'm honestly impressed so far, since I hated the idea of Havolaris joining, but this issue put those doubts to rest. I like that there's tension between these two leaders and I think both of their sides are reasonable.

This was the first issue of X-Factor I've ever bought. I was impressed, the interaction between Havok and Madrox was good and (to me) seemed to flow quite nicely with the rest of the narrative. The scene with Strong Guy was disturbingly funny. Gonna pick up the next one for sure.
