Well seeing how there actually seems to be a consensus here Im glad that I read up to Blackest Night and then spent some time away from GL. I picked it back up win the relaunch and It's been pretty good with Sinestro at the helm IMO.

I don't think it's creatively bankrupt since I'm enjoying the stories that Johns is currently telling better than the ones he was telling post Blackest Night and pre Flashpoint.
However, I think that he has definitely overstayed on the series and now that the franchise is big enough it does'nt need him anymore. I would prefer to see a new talented writer with a good premise about the GL's mythos going into a different direction.
Comic Books are fun, Comic Book fans not so much.
I just wish that every new arc wasn't intimately tied into one or another of the various rainbow lantern corps. It makes you wonder what kind of adventures Green Lantern could possibly have had in the decades before all of this was introduced. I'd be a lot less annoyed by these guys if there was any effort to use them more sparingly. At this point, we can actually predict the next bunch of story arcs. Since it looks like Indigo and Black Lanterns are up to bat now, then the next story arc will probably revolve around the Red or the Blue Lanterns. After that it we'll get a return of White Lanterns, then Orange Lanterns get their turn again. Then we can get Sinestro Corps War II, and then back to the Indigo Tribe again to start it all over. It's just a big circular rainbow that goes around and around and around, as if there are no other antagonists in the universe.
I'm not hugely into GLC as much as I was before but I couldn't disagree more about New Guardians, it's actually the GL book I look most forward to given all the characters and Kyle mixing it up to create a constantly interesting group dynamic. Plus Bedard is at least creating new villains instead of basically recycling the same stuff Johns has kept revisiting. Not that it's not well done on Johns part but you can only go to that well so many times before it seems like he's out of original ideas and villains.
Well put.
