Default For Your Consideration: WATXM or Uncanny

With both WATXM and UXM have a few arcs under their belt post-Schism/ReGenesis now would be a good time to poll the x-boards on which book they prefer. *Dedicated to Optic Rage*

Are you a fan of Gillen's sci-fi, villian, sarcastic dialogue based run on Uncanny?

    Or

Are you a fan of Aaron's fun, kid friendly, old school x-men, saturday morning cartoon take on Wolverine and the X-Men?

Discuss the stories, artwork, general 'feel' of both books, and please elaborate on WHY you like or dislike one or both the books.

No dissing creators and no dissing artists. Discuss their work, not them.

I've read far too little of Gillen's work, but every book I have that the man wrote is solid gold. I hope he sticks around for a twenty year run on the title. Fresh ideas, excellent characterizations, just a real supreme book. Add the excellent artwork of Land (I know, I know, there are those with Land issues, but the OP wants us to play nice now ^.~) and Uncanny is easily a top teir book.
I'll definately be a subscriber to Uncanny as long as Gillen stays on it.

Both books got their ups and downs but ultimately I'd go with Wolverine's book. The whole school setting has been missing the past few years, also fun stories. In the artistic department, Bachalo&Bradshaw >>> Land&Pachecco. The connections with Legacy and Uncanny X-Force also make it more enjoyable if you read those books. The only weak point for me would be the villains. Hellfire kids & aliens = ZZZZzZZzz. Also light-heartedness is cool but at some point shit gotta hit the fans and stakes gotta rise up high, and I'm still waiting for that moment.

    Both books are great.

I prefer Uncanny. I feel like the Blue Team has the harder job and UXM does a great job of expressing their plight. Uncanny takes a group of unlikable characters and makes you love them. The dialogue is the real winner for me. Every person has great lines made to fit their individual voice. The dialogue always adds to the story without hindering it. The villains are also crafted intelligently. Both books are funny and have good action, yet I feel UXM is definitely the clever book. I appreciate all the layers in the stories. I also prefer less stylized art. It seems to me that what goes on in UXM effects all of mutant kind. WATXM is still a great book, and I definitely like having a less serious book to contrast Uncanny.

Ugh. I love them both so much, but I have to go with WatX. I like the cast more.

The first arc in Uncanny was a little too comicbooky. I don't really care for big bads with grandiose evil plans. Gillen's writing became phenomenal when he got free reign (phalanx story). I have a feeling he's going to be mediocre when advancing stupid editorial-driven crossover stories.

WATXM is pretty fun, although most characters only have a few lines of dialogue in their one-dimensional shtick (broo says something cutely naive and intellectual, gladiator discusses the joy of punching, etc).
VIVA KUSASAN!!! Morrison On Magneto: I made him into a stupid old drug-addicted idiot. CC had done a lot of good work over the years to redeem the character. And I went in and sh*t on all of it.

He has been awesome in editorial driven crossover stories so far: Journey into Mystery during the largely shitty Fear Itself, and his one issue of AvX so far... UXM 11. Also, UXM during Fear Itself was very good...

The problem with Kieron's book is that every cast-member save Colossus is supposed to have serious attitude and yet...there has yet to be any explosive blasts of character aside from Storm calling Scott a supervillain.

WatX can be really silly but something happens on every page and it's hard for me to bitch about a book that's continuously humming along.

Compression scores beacoup points with me.

I HATE to read a book and feel like there was no adventure or dramatic tension between characters.

Poor little Broo was so scared after kicking that scientist's ass.

Yes Broo, you are a monster, but it gets better.
Sorry Brevoort, Alonso and Lowe, but Jean Grey is a classic character. She'll outlive you regardless. :)

I prefer Wolverine and the X-Men, but issues 9 and on of Uncanny have made me like that book as well.

Wolverine and the X-Men definately feels like the soul of the the franchise though.

I like them both, but in a different way. I like the art better in WATXM, so I guess If I absolutely had to pick one, it would be it.

WATXM for me...but the minute Cable joins the X-Tinction Team I'm going with Uncanny.

    I honestly cannot decide.

When the cast and creative teams were announced, I was leaning towards WatXM... but Gillen's done terrific work on Uncanny.

I can't decide so 'both' is my vote.
