Not every issue is going be about horror . Clearly batman is revealing his family secrets and fighting off owls.

As the grandchild of ornitholigists, with biology practically being the family business, some of the science behind this arc has been cracking me up at points. I was actually talking to my grandmother about owls not long ago and she was the one who brought up the subject of "Did you know owls sometimes preyed on bats?" Yes, Grandma. Believe me, I know.

I don't mind the monologue and really if nothing else, I've enjoyed this arc as an excuse for the Batfam to go all out without worrying about killing people.

Looking forward to this. Enjoying this title much more than Detective, and this issue looks like a kick ass smash 'em up!

This arc is good enough, but I certainly won't miss it when it's done. In the words of Batman "I'm sick to death of owls!!!"

Jesus, Bruce. Maybe save the family history lesson until after you fight off the Talons.

Seriously, who thinks about stuff like that in a fight?

    Terrible, terrible preview.

My favorite line: "Come on, you undead sons of....." Gag.

Preview looks awesome. I am looking forward to seeing Bruce absolutely destroy the Owls nonstop in this issue. We already know we are getting armor melees and Owls getting run over by Batmobiles so that is a good start.

You know...considering how literal the metaphors are in this story (I mean, I'm enjoying the story well enough and even I'm like, "yes, yes, owls kill bats, yadda yadda")...I wonder if this means that the Waynes were originally part of the Court?

If the Waynes weren't involved in the Court at this point, I'd consider it a twist ending. I mean right there on the first page, Batman says "My ancestors let Owls loose in the cave."

It's already established that Dick Grayson has a Talon for a Grandfather.

    All signs point to yes.

I'm still leaning towards the Kanes being the ones involved with the Court of Owls. I still think there's a good chance Betsy Kane, Bruce's grandmother, is actually the current leader of the Court/the woman in the wheelchair we saw in issue 6.
