Batman #9 Preview/Discussion SPOILERS

You know the Christian Andersen story about the King and his clothes? Same thing here. They hype for this book is so much that people miss it's glaring flaws.

I said this in my review: "The story feels a little thin, but as story arcs go this is the end of act two. Time for the climax. It isn’t a whole chapter or even a whole act. The new way of storytelling in comics it seems."

I think people might be giving it high grades for how the trade paperback or more likely the hardcover will read. As single issues go it's thin. Thin mints I say!

Yeah, I am fine with them sending more than one talons, although I think maybe they send to many.
But I really do not understand why they only send one talon for Gordon or that general.

They sent one Talon to get Gordon, the head of the entire police force! They sent one Talon in a freaking army base to kill a freaking general!

The point is that Bruce already survived their first attempt, is known for being friends of Batman, and is the heir to the family the Owls seem to view as their number 1 enemies. That's plenty of reasons why they'd send a good amount of them after him, he's the most likely one to need it.

There are less than 40 targets and according to Snyder, they have about 100 talons. So I really think they can and should send more than one talon for an army general and Gordon.
By the way , in mayor's case, they also have other target.

all the targets didnt knew that they were going to be attacked, they were planned as sneak attacks, small and quick, the attack on Batman was bigger and with a different intention
they needed to make sure that all was destroyed to make an example of him

No, Snyder has said they have almost 60 Talons. They don't outnumber the targets by that much.

This makes sense to a certain extent considering if Bruce goes down it'll resonate more in Gotham.

It's a story anyway. They could have had 1000 Talons if Snyder wanted it.

I could understand sending more talons assuming Batman Inc is still in continuity and Bruce is publicly supporting Batman. If that's the case though, maybe they should've sent more than one in the first place?

Why's everyone complaining? who cares it's a well done story. And complaining about cheesy in a Batman comic is like complaining about a laugh track on TV. It doesn't work. The concept of Batman is inherently cheesy
