Default Is Action Comics all we need?

Since the dcNu relaunch, the Superman title has been a mess. Good today bad tomorrow! Action comics has been balanced. Good action scenes, good art (at least the fight scenes are drawn very well) and good stories. Now thinking about all this, do we really need a superman title? Noone seems to be writing Superman well this days except Morrison. I don't know how excited I should be about the guy taking over from Jurgens because I was looking forward to Jurgens and the last issue was a mess.
So what do you guys think? Is action comics good enough or we should still hope on Superman. P.S I think the art should be done by the guy that does teen titans. His art is amazing IMO

There's no need to cancel a long running title just because it's going through a slump.

No, Superman is the only one besides Batman who can afford more than one title, and it would be a shame to do away with that. I think we need a conventional, straight forward alternative to Morrison's book.

Btw, I don't know much about comic writers and all, but what happened to Alan Moore? Does he still write comics for DC?

    In a sense, I agree.

aka: take the back up team from Action, and put them on Superman.

I wouldn't get rid of the Superman title either. It is going through a slump, but all comics do. What Superman needs is a consistent creative team who can actually build up the Superman mythos. They need time to establish Superman and pull together some great stories. Bringing over the team that's been doing the back ups in Action would be great. Those back up stories are amazing.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

May I suggest you check out wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Mo...3.E2.80.931988), especially the portion about his falling out with DC. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Mo...3.E2.80.931988)

Thanks, although there wasn't any use laughing. I just always hear a lot about him so I thought he was one of the majors for DC. Thanks anyways

They need to bring back Kurt Busiek. Last time I really enjoyed a writer on the Superman book.

Sorry . . . it wasn't that I was laughing at you. It's more like laughing at the thought.

Things are especially not favorable for his return at the moment with DC's coming Before Watchmen books. http://forums.comicbookresources.com...light=Watchmen

This. I want to see a Superman title written by Fisch that isn't a back-up.

Long running? HA! What issue are we on now?

    ...

Anywho ... It happens: Green Lantern, Wonder Woman ... it won't happen, but it does happen, it can happen, and if the slump continues it would make sense that it should happen.

No there needs to be at LEAST two Superman titles running. He's a major DC character, with a film on the way. The SUPERMAN title just needs a good team behind it, it is sad that we had to see Perez go.
