    Default Daredevil #12 *Spoilers*

Daredevil #12 by Waid and Samnee (and a dynamite cover by Rivera), out today . . .

    Preview here.

Matt goes on a date with ADA McDuffie, with Spider-Man tagging along unseen in case one of Matt's megacrime foes turns up. Kirsten asks about Matt's friendship with Foggy, and Matt tells her a story from their college days, in which Matt and Foggy took on a corrupt faculty member. Their date is interrupted by a member of Black Spectre, who threatens Matt's friends and family before vanishing.

It's another great issue. Samnee ably steps into the mix on the art side, and Waid puts together a clever little story showing off Matt's (and Foggy's) legal acumen. There's a nod towards the bigger Omega Drive story arc, but it's basically a fun done-in-one.

My guess is we find out next issue. But the cliffhanger was on something happened to Spidey, so it's not like we can find out this issue.
The Punisher: I’m going to cauterize your rectum, sealing it shut, so when you turn those delicious Pink Pants™ Fruit Pies into waste products the bilirubin in your feces will leach into your bloodstream and you’ll die screaming! And I’ll watch while having sex with this grateful prostitute!

Trussed-Up Hooker: Blueberry are my favorite!

In other words, what StoneGold said.

This was a really sweet-natured, funny issue with terrific art. Loved it. Best I've read of this series so far.

Exactly this. Samnee is an amazing fit for this book. Waid has been delivering some really varied stories and I really loved cuteness of this issue. An entire issue about Matt Murdock with no DD action and yet probably one of the best in the series so far. I hope Waid is longterm on this book. Also the colors are FANTASTIC.
    Hey, Thanos, baby!

    Default Daredevil #12

My god I am loving this series, and issue #12 was just brilliantly delivered.

Honestly I seldom take the time to look at who wrote the comics that I read. In this case I just had to know. Mark Waid, a person I hadn't previously heard of. Is he writing anything else at the moment? Any good TPB's I should pick up from him?

He's written a lot for various companies, including some classic work on Flash, JLA, Captain America, and Fantastic Four. Ever heard of Kingdom Come? That's him. In addition to Daredevil and two soon-to-end series from Boom!, he's doing creator-owned stuff at thrillbent.com.

His run (pun intended) on Flash in the 90's was amazing. He had two great runs on Capt America teamed with Ron Garney & Andy Kubert. He also teamed with Andy for about a year on Ka-Zar which was good. His JLA work followed Grant Morrison & was stellar. His FF is considered one of the best work on that book. There are many fans who would like to see him write Superman.

Mark Waid has proven once more that its possible to release a stand alone done in one comic book. Forget mega six issue arcs, this is how a monthly series should be done. I am loving every issue of this book. Best comic on the stands...period!

New Mutants' last issue was also a fun done-in-one. I so wish comics in general would do some more stories like this. So many story arcs go over six issues these days and just drag on. So an issue like this is refreshing.

I liked his Superman: Birthright a lot, but reaction was somewhat mixed.

Guess it's time to get back on the book then? I had stop just before Shadowland began for the first time since Bendis took over. Worth reading since there, or just go back to #1-#12?

I say stick with 1-12, but I have only been reading Daredevil since the beginning of Waid's run, having never picked up a Daredevil book before that. His actions in Shadowland are addressed, but they don't seem to have a very large impact on Waid's run. (somebody who has read Shadowland please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)

This run has been absolutely fantastic though, quality from start to finish and may actually be getting better with each issue. (in my opinion at least) You owe it to yourself to at least catch up on this run.
