dude in the turban appeared in Marvel Two-In-One # 5; Zakkor the magician. he was also in one of the handbooks (along w/ the invaders and a few other timely characters). on Aman's team, i think i recognized Mister E or, at least, one of the Twelve. i guess the kid could have been Jimmy Everett. i wonder who that country bumpkin is in the above pic.
there's also this for another defenders appearance of Zakkor

Waaaaait a minute, the guy in the turban is Shadu the Shady, member of the Confederates of the Curious and first appeared in Immortal Iron Fist Annual #1 and later appeared again in The Immortal Iron Fist: Orson Randall and the Green Mist of Death...
Shadu was a mystic and owner of the mystical item known as the "Aural Eye of Asmodel", similarities to Dr. Strange anyone?

Danny = Orson and Shadu = Stephen?

I think you're onto something, Iron Fist.
The big man ("Chores"?) is the Hulk analogue, though he might represent Surfer and the Contessa represents Red She-Hulk... or Shulkie represents both. Though the Contessa's so blonde it's almost white -- Clea?! Black Cat?
Perhaps two of them are going to be the ones Nick Fury and Ant Man stand-in for.
What worries me is that Princess Fen, Nemo, and Leonard McKenzie are in Aman's protect-the-Engines group, which may mean Namor stands with them.
does anyone have a picture of Aman's group?
Seamus MacGillicuddy aka Chores was a circus strongman before joining Orson and the Confederates of the Curious. There really are a few similarities between the COTC and the Defenders. Fraction did say this book would be full of coincidences...*ponders*
No problemo! Have you figured out who some of these members are on John's team? I think the big guy could be a past Fat Cobra.

I asked Fraction who they were and he answered:
*ponders* Also, he's right about Aman, really glad he brought that up.Originally Posted by Matt Fraction

Doesn't mean i have to like it!!!!!!!!
I was under the impression that Brubaker and Fraction's Immortal Iron Fist was a re-imagining of past characters, including John Aman, who doesn't have to be acting like he is, but I guess when it's convenient it can be justified. If Fraction wants to suddenly go by characterisation over 50 years old, rather than the characterisation he and Brubaker established, I guess i can't say he's technically wrong, just that i don't support that direction. Is he going to start calling him Amazing Man next too?
