Danny: My "gang," John..? ..John, you killed the wrong people.
John: I-- No, it wasn't the Immortal Weapons who--
[and that's the last we hear from him in this issue]

It sounds like he knows about the Defenders. I doubt he would call the other Immortal Weapons "Danny's gang"

sounds to me like he didn't know about the Defenders. he killed the Immortal Weapons by accident; thinking them to be "Danny's gang."

Somehow goes back in time and replaces Orson, but has to keep up appearances so no one knows he's from the future?

A pretty far stretch, certainly. Just spitballing.

So did they clarify if POO (lol best acronym ever) actually killed the other weapons or is that still uncertain? I thought he was too cool and noble of a character to turn heel and murder his pals.

At this point we don't know. The Immortal Weapons are turning up dead, Fat Cobra appears to point the finger at John Aman, Prince of Orphans turns up personally to murder Danny -- it certainly looks like he did it, but it isn't a proven fact yet.

Hmmm. I wouldn't think so. He'd know that in his own past, he was looking for this information. Why disguise himself as Orson, and write a book he knew he was going to read, and not be more clearer about information that he clearly needs now?

He may have, but he certainly had something (and looked genuinely shocked at them being referrerd to as the Immortal Weapons) to say about it until Surfer frogged up and swallowed him.

this is bigger than friendship. in his mind (if he's the murderer), he's saving reality. and i'd say that they were more co-workers than pals. Prince of Orphans isn't catching a matinee with any of them. they did just come out of a huge martial arts tournament where they were kicking each others' rears.

i think we're making too much of it. him wearing a white shirt isn't any weirder than Red She-Hulk suddenly wearing a valkyrie costume in the 2nd issue.

you can say that again! But i'll hand it to Fraction, this is one thing he's proven to be very good at with Casanova is playing with time and plot. and I think that's what's making Defenders a lot more fun than Mighty Thor (which i'm enjoying. but not on the same level). If -- and this is a big if -- he has an explanation for Orson's white turtleneck, and for why PoO has gone rogue (remember, everyone's a hero in their own story), and what type of time travel Danny did (if any), then I'll be stoked. It's a vast improvement over the type of odd retcon involving Iron fist and K'un-Lun that showed up in the last New Avengers.

Uhn, yeah. I'm trying to ignore the whole New Avengers K'un-Lun Phoenix thing.

It could be one of those Schrodinger Cat things. Where the Concordance Engine changes things to match your perception as you look at them. There was that bottom of the page note which talked about Misty and Danny, and suddenly was aware they were on the above page.
