I'm confused, Danny asks "was this you?" in regards to killing the Immortal Weapons. And then John goes into a frenzy and shouts, "Of course it was me." but then you're right, it seems like he starts to say it wasn't him who killed them. Odd.
Still though, a frenzied John Aman rubs me the wrong way.
See, I knew Orson's shirt being white had a reason behind it. A fan asked Fraction as to just why it was white and Fraction replied simply "keep reading". So why was his shirt white? Did it have to do with the Condorance Engine? Can't wait to find out. So damn good to see Orson and the Confederates again:

I actually don't mind that white turtleneck costume, though. Looks very old-school cool. As if Sean Connery could be Orson.

There have been a lot of hints that there's a sort of repeating history, almost like a time loop, in play concerning these Engines. The Confederates of the Curious were one group tracking them, and now the Defenders are another, and there will probably be an analogue for each Defender in the Confederates.
It was misdirection. First Aman says that the Celestial Clockwork will provide new weapons. Then Danny asks if Aman did it, to which Aman said "of course he did". This probably refers to something else Aman did, not kill the Weapons. Which explains why he sounds shocked when asked if he killed the weapons.
Actual dialogue..
John Aman: The Celestial Clockwork will produce new Immortal Weapons. You have to be stopped. You're going to shut the Engines down and that cannot be allowed to happen.
Danny: I-- John-- was this you?
John: Of course it was me!
[cue fight scene]
Silver Surfer: Stop. Why was your photograph in the captain's gallery of the Nautilus?
John: Man-of-Stars, the Engines are sacrosanct. You and Rand and Rand's gang cannot be allowed to go meddling with their purpose.
Surfer: Murderer. Obfuscator.
Danny: My "gang," John..? ..John, you killed the wrong people.
John: I-- No, it wasn't the Immortal Weapons who--
[and that's the last we hear from him in this issue]
It sounds like he knows about the Defenders. I doubt he would call the other Immortal Weapons "Danny's gang"
I didn't read NA - what was the reason Danny wears white?

Unfortunately, yes.
According to Bendis, the Vishanti disbanded and Agamotto went rogue, tried to take the Eye back by force (Danny had the Eye when he was abducted), and finally was banished from our dimension by Brother Voodoo, who destroyed himself and the Eye doing it.
There have been hints since that Agamotto isn't finished with Danny, but I'm not sure what's going on.
Neither do I and that's a cool way of putting it haha.
I picked that up instantly, especially the Confederates proving the "Breaker of Souls" exists. As we all know the "Breaker of Worlds" was in the first arc. Really intrigued by these revelations.
LOL at Wendell not listening to Orson.![]()
