I saw that trailer. What is Prometheus? It's not based on something is it? I mean book wise or something of that nature. I know the origin of the name, but is this a completely original movie? Not a remake or something.

I looked up some info and it is a prequel, but will be developing its own mythology and stuff away from the Alien series.
