My friend tells me that I'm easily pleased, and he's using this most likely as an insult. I have no idea how to counter him, because he turns everything I say back on me. He calls things I like stupid and uninteresting, claiming I only like the game, book, movie, etc., because I'm easily pleased. What do I tell him? I am not easily pleased, I just keep most of my criticism in my head. There are more things I do not like than I do like. I just know what I want and like. I have a variety of RPGS, action/adventures, and other games I'm interested in, while he sits at home spending countless hours on only two games (Modern Warfare 3 and Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Project M).

But you are easily pleased. Its nothing to be ashamed of, it just means you get to enjoy more stuff then most, I'd love to be able to do that.

Ok, but he keeps laughing at me and using it as an insult, like enjoying Halo, or Final Fantasy, or being interested in Lollipop Chainsaw is somehow a crime. And he keeps trying to convince me that I only want these games because I have the money and that whether you actually like something will be determined by a finite income. Except I do enjoy games that I can't possibly get at the moment.

Have you considered that maybe he just isn't a good friend?

These are the things that go through my head whenever I see anything from the Spider-Man reboot.

1. Oh god what the hell? Why is Peter so angry and aggressive? Where is the kind young man I grew up with that Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created back in the 60s?
2. Why is this so dark, depressing, and gritty? Where is the fun and lightheartedness Spider-Man is known for?
3. Could Andrew and Emma be any more stiff?
4. Wow! Spider-Man is a douche.
5. Whoever designed the character designs for Lizard and Spider-Man needs to be fired now.

I agree, he's not a very good friend. I mean, there are some great moments when we get along, but he doesn't seem able to stand that I have opinions about things he dislikes. Or that I'm willing to try out games he doesn't like. What do you think I should do?

I'll wait until watching it to pass 100% judgement.

Probably not. One of the reasons might be because he is jealous. He might not have enough money as you do. If it's that then ask him if he wants to play together and if he doesn't like the same games you do then there might be a problem.

No, he just thinks it's stupid how I enjoy a nice variety of games. I doubt it has anything to do with him not having any money, because even when he did he never really bought more games (he says none interested him). He likes FPS and I don't really like them. He enjoys fighters like Super Smash Bros., and I don't think he likes many RPGs unless they're Skyrim. He'll compare other RPGs to Skyrim (or Oblivion), so he's not into many games. He DOES like puzzle games, but when faced with two or three new puzzle games, he admits he'd rather wait for a Portal 3 (which probably won't get made).

I like Action-Adventure, RPGs, simulators, strategy-RPGs, some fighters (Mortal Kombat), MMORPGs, and that's about it I think.
