Did I make a cop-out for being completely wrong? Artemis was neither Crock nor Dearden seemingly. What a stupid waste, I liked her already from the preview. Should really stop going into discussions of released books I haven't read. Now I just get to wait a week or 8 for my copy to arrive in the mail and see for myself. Screw my optimism.

Honestly? Yes. Her characterization HASN'T been inconsistent since issue three or so. At this point, at least since issue three, I don't see the issue with Starfire. Coming from an old fan.

Artemis was definitely meant to be the DCnU counterpart to the YJ Artemis Crock. To say otherwise is to be in denial.

-The blue stripe body paint somewhat resembles the blue stripes on Artemis Crock's Tigress uniform.
-AmazonArtemis was a bit violent...if thrown into a berserker rage I don't see here trying to hold back from killing.
-AmazonArtemis was big and tall, like bigger than Diana? This Artemis looked to be slightly smaller than Tim.
-AmazonArtemis was usually depicted as having more or a reddish blonde or orange hair wasn't she?
-Do Amazon's usually refer to themselves as just human (in context of human vs metahuman not human vs alien)?
-There is NO WAY that Tim would have been able to overpower AmazonArtemis and put her in a headlock...
-Tigress was mainly a villain for the JSA and Infinity Inc...teams whose members are associated with Earth 2. So there is still a strong possibility for the Earth 2 Artemis Crock to exist and be used. So killing this universes version of Artemis doesn't mean much. (Although it may not bode well for the Young Justice character)

Minor pet peeve, but if you are going to paint a characters face...try to be a little consistant about it. I'd swear practically every panel Artemis was in she was painted differently from an almost mask to just stripes, to clearly having no paint on her face at all *sigh*. It was just a little bit distracting.

Terra has to be Markov? She has the Earth powers and everything?

I'm willing to give Tim having a no one dies attitude being enough to upset him when Artemis was killed...but what I thought was crap was that people who were under the influence of Leash (Beast Boy, Terra, etc) all seemed to instantly snap out of it when she died. Really? That made no sense at all. I mean are we expected to believe that Leash has to come back and re-berserker rage everyone every single time someone they knew dies? Ummm...nope, not buying that. The editing of that whole chapter 4 seemed like a clustered mess.

I would'nt be so sure that Skitter is gone of the book, at least not until Lobdell writes some conclusion for her character.

This. I mean there is a panel with a hand reaching for her for a reason. Clearly she is going to be involved in an important subplot, probably one crucial to their escape.

I get the feeling that Artemis didn't die..start of the story she was completely human..just before her "death" her left arm changes from human, to reptillian. It' s too big and too obvious to be a minor mistake, and several panels it's basically screaming "LOOK! LIZARD ARM!". So I'm guessing she'll have some sort of tribal shape-shifting abilities and regeneration (to go with her tribal paint), or Harvest modified her.

I had mixed feelings about the issue. Once again I find the plot to be very interesting and captivating and the characterization has been consistent. I am not sure how I feel about the the third-person narration, I am very neutral its presence. The art is nice but not outstanding. The biggest issue have though is the dialogue, for many, but not all, it is so unnatural sounding and "saying-what-is-happening-and-what-I-am-doing" which I really don't like, that is my only major issue with the issue (and series so far).

As for Artemis, what was the point of creating/referencing the Young Justice version of a well-liked character to just kill her in the same issue that she was introduced? I can't see it making anyone really happy. A random-named teenager would have fill the same role just as well.

No. Maybe if you love some of the characters in it, then it might be an interesting read for you, but without that, it just seemed like a giant mess to me...
