If it does turn out to be the sort of Asian blond (wtf...) from YJ, I suspect she'll die in the crossover.
Her father is blond and white so it's possible.

Yeah, it is entirely possible for someone who has Asian and Caucasian heritage to have blond hair. The Young Justice Artemis is designed after a family member of one of the production team members who is blond and half-Asian.

Not to mention that, even if it wasn't the case, there is such a thing as hair dye.

That preview just convinces me to give up hope on Titans getting better.

Well one positive thing is Artemis at least sounds...right, like she would in Young Justice. Tim playing bad-ass? Not so much. It rings untrue for the character. As for the other two, yech! The less said about their costumes and speech, the better. And don't get me started on Booth. I can't figure out what those characters are looking at in half the panels.

    Easy access, no?

As a gay man, I've seen naughty underwear for men that looks strikingly similar...
hehehe.... Well, to be fair-- lightning has them too! I remember waaaay back when I was in middle school (we're talking the early 80s here...*coughcough*) there was a girl that came to school with tight jeans that had a zipper running the full length-- front to back-- of her crotch-al area.... Very "trashy rocker" look at them time

Artemis crock was originally a white character in the comics, In the tv show she is mixed. Its possible this TT version is fully caucasian. In the TV show anyway, she is often confused for caucasian when she is mixed.

Anyway i still think there is a chance it might just be the amazonian Artemis, (Artemis of Bana-Mighdall) . Artemis of YJ does not use spears, and it appears that the WW Artemis actually does. Like I said in any case, this character looks awesome, and I wouldnt mind either way.

I dont think she will die, she will likely join the TT team.

I don't know whether to drop this book or not

On one hand, the scripting seems to be getting worse and worse and this Culling event is confusing

    on the other hand
I see Artemis being introduced and hopefully Aqualad, who was one of my favorites of Brightest Day

With scripting that bad why risk it? I say come back when things improve.

Yeah, it reminds me of Joe Madureira on Uncanny X-Men post-Onslaught when they were out in space dealing with the Shi'ar and got those space uniforms...only not good.

Well, its by the same writer as the ongoing, and is pretty much an issue squeezed in between two issues as part of an overhanging story, so not much chance of that.

    Possibly she has a spear because of the limited amount of materials she has available to make a bow and the arrows. Spears are after all pretty simple to make;
    1) find a long stick, a sharp piece of metal and some string.
    2) tie metal piece to stick and viola, you have a spear.

Not to mention making a working bow is fairly difficult if you want any range.

Seeing those pants makes me think less about trashy rockers and more about...something that's not suitable for kids.

Artemis appearing is pretty cool. Given the success of the cartoon, I figured it'd be inevitable for (a) Artemis to eventually appear in the comics. That's about where my praise ends. Not feeling the writing.

I enjoy Booth's art quite a bit. The tron suits are fun and seeing Artemis (any version of the character is cool with me) is a nice treat. Looking forward to see what happens.

I barely passed biology last year, but as I did happen to learn a bit about cloning and genes (the former is completely irrelevant to this post), I do indeed know a light-haired Asian is improbable but possible. Recessive genes and all, one carried down 5 generations from the last blondey to marry into the family perhaps.

Some posters have perhaps noted my occassional but consistent respone to DC news of new waves and books and the like to predict the return of Mia Dearden. For the 3 of you who might of noticed, you probably also noted my reasoning was based on a podcast interview with Scott Lobdell that gave as near as good evidence that Mia would appear soonish as one is likely to find. So when a blonde chick, in TT, smart but with attitude and strength with the name of an archer appears, and is completely white (the colourist has consistently gotten skin tones correct, even for non-whites, which is a pleasant change) it isn't hard to infer what my inference is. And I'm a Mia fan, and thus prone to optimism.

It is possible it is Artemis Crock, but she is more tanned in look which would be transferred presumably if she was to the main DCU, and, importantly, everyone at the Culling is going by codenames. 'Terra', 'Beast Boy', 'Thunder'. Not 'Atlee/clone chick', 'Garfield' and 'Inigo Montoya'. Being addressed as Artemis doesn't suggest, in context, it is the chick called Artemis. Why would DC add yet another blonde white chick who looks pretty much the same as Wonder Girl to a book with a writer who loudly states he never wants to write a new white character because there are already enough?

I love Booth's art. Suits the book fabulously. Lobdell got blessed with a couple of great artists and colourists. TT without Booth and RHatO without Rocafort would be sad and degraded. Superboy for instance is pretty good, but the art never quite zings, so overall it is a bit middle of the line.

And there really needs to be a currency for predictions, so people can bet virtually what will happen. Lets call them vc tokens, everyone starts with 100 and I bet 75 of them that the chick addressed as Artemis here is called Mia Dearden and the other 25 that Mia Dearden, in any form, will have some decent role this year. Any takers?
I would like to say for the record that this is the FIRST TIME I've withheld dong when someone was so desperately asking for some.

Half-Cambodian, and you'd never know. Nothing about her appearance has ever suggested such a thing.
