The other thing that kills me about these costumes isn't that they're bad designs (they aren't); it's that they don't belong on the Teen Titans. The day-glo neon Tron look would work perfectly in a setting like Legion Of Super-Heroes or the Green Lantern Corps or any of the Rainbow Corps. Here, they're glaringly out of place and unnatural. That's why they look so absurd. They just don't make sense in TT and painfully stick out like a sore thumb.

Are you even reading the book anymore? Reading the whole thing helps it make sense. Even in the preview they mention he's wearing the colors of Harvest. They've been captured. Not saying that their regular costumes are any better. Way too much red.

Looks great can't wait for Culling, Im glad booth back doing the art for annual, Im been enjoying Teen Titans Nice to see Artemis part of new 52 hopefully she sticks around joins Titans for people complaining about tron suits its only for couple issues back normal costumes.

... what's the problem? It's the costumes that they're shown wearing from the start, just with "T's" on the shoulder as to say "Teen Titans." I, for one, am enjoying Lobdell's Titans AND Booth's designs.

Booth's original ideas for TT costumes we've actually never seen. Early interviews with Booth had comments from him that he showed the sketches to Lobdell and Lobdell instructed changes that gave us what we have today. I'm a big fan of Booth as an artist and as a potential writer. His public comments on the Titans in general and Wally West in particular impressed me. His views acknowledged connections to the Titans' past and how those connections should be honored while also pushing the concept forward and keeping the book up-to-date with modern times.

Lobdell's take on Superboy was one I initially liked, but he's really lost momentum in the characterization and plot and sales are falling accordingly on that book. His version of Tim Drake has been inconsistent at best and his Cassie is outright wrong to me. I can grudgingly admit his Bart isn't half-bad, but then he goes and blows it by insisting on an overly-busy, garish and ugly costume that for all the world frighteningly resembles this horror show...



Bizarre characterizations. Garish costumes. Uninspired villains. Thanks, but I'll pass.

I think you are right , she does look like the amazonian Artemis, its probably her. But her costume in TT resembles that of Young Justice Artemis a bit. Or maybeJ Artemis is inspired by herSo this TT version might be an intergration of the two. Didnt care or his TT book, definately looking forward to see this Artemis now, who ever she is she looks badass. The crossover looks interesting too.

scott said awhile ago he never has watched the YJ show,and now we see Artemis here,which is great,the show is amazing,and i was wondering when,and hoping that they would bring some cool aspects of the show to the comics(and vise versa) and now it is happening.

the tron suits are ravager/culling/harvest suits,so the titans will drop them when they are done with that,and only the ravagers and SB would still have them,because SB was created by them,and the ravagers were in the colony for so long.

yeah the titans suits have a lot of red in them,but it doesnt mean they dont look kickass.

good to see booths art again.

this week coming up is probably one of the biggest weeks for comic fans-YJ show season two episode 1,wed comics (smallville,worlds finest,earth 2,teen titans annual,supreme#64,friday is the opening for the Avengers,then sat is free comic book day,and episode two of YJ second season.

The DCnU is Marvel in the '90s! I gave up on Teen Titans due to the DeFalco dialogue. I don't need the characters to narrate their every action in a speech bubble.

Tigress aka Artemis Crock, and more-or-less yeah; there are some notable differences between the two.

Human has nothing to do with whether she's "marked for death" or not, though. Culling starts, killing ensues. I'm being cautious about her appearance due to the impending kill-fest and the lack of her appearance or mention in solicited titles taking place after the crossover.

I will say this; three pages of this so far has been better than the past two issues of TT and Superboy combined. So the positive being that its raised my interest a bit for the Culling from where it was at a firm 0. The negative being I wish the past two months of two good titles hadn't suffered because of it.

Agreed. "Yuck" is exactly the word that comes to mind... Every review I read praises the art and I just don't see it. I liked Brett Booth on Backlash when I was twelve or thirteen, but my tastes have changed.

I don't understand why people only give 2 ideas to Artemis' fate: she either joins the Titans/Ravagers or she dies. That's cynical to the point where you don't even want to use your brain to think of the possibilities. Maybe she doesn't want to do the hero thing and goes back to being pre-Med. She could appear down the line. Since Lobdell, Mackie and DeFalco were Marvel guys, they weren't ever a part of the Teen Titans bloodbaths. There may be deaths in the culling, but who says it can't be the red shirts.

Koushun Takami is not suing Suzanne Collins. Just because stories have similar plot/setting elements does not make them rip-offs. Same with this "The Culling".

My point exactly; Party A is angry at Party B for stealing its ideas.

Impossible, her hands are far too big to be Liefeld created! (and she isnt covered in pouches or unreasonably sized weapons...or wearing the fruit basket on her head)
