This book hasn't quite won me over yet.

It was well executed, without a doubt. Strong, clear characterization. Gorgeous artwork, with impeccable storytelling. And with two artists on the book, the potential for no fill ins is certainly exciting.

But there was nothing particularly exciting, inventive or bold about the issue. I'm wasn't sold on the book to begin with - no affection for the characters - so a 'solid' outting isn't necessarily going to be enough for me on a monthly basis.

    We'll see.

Even if she thought that E1 one heroes has stuff under control and she wasn't needed, the story made it seem that she didn't even lift a finger to help her fellow man for five years.

You would think a Supergirl (any Supergirl) would be running around the world saving folks and dashing of before she could be seen/photographed.

She could still make herself rich and do that.
Well to be fair shes been living a normal life, busier than most cuz she was building an empire. How often is a hero required in a normal life? I mean unavoidably right in front of you when u have time to react? Im 34 and fairly normal and its only happened once to me, and it was already over by the time I realized what was going on.

Quit acting like Karen has some moral failing for not helping people when nothings probably happened around her that needed it.

About every ten minutes, going by a typical day for the likes of Clark Kent, Peter Parker or just about any other hero you could name.

I enjoyed this book very much. I would like to note when the costume change came in I sighed a bit. I do not know why but, a book with Earth 2 Supergirl + Robin is more interesting to me than a Powergirl + Huntress book.

No complaints though. Paul Levitz did quite well here. Looking forward to this Worlds Finest series.

Couldn't agree more. This was a personal high point for every member of the creative team--Paul Levitz, George Perez & Kevin Maguire. All 3 turned in some of their best work in years. The characters were likable. The dialogue was fun and believable. There was a perfect balance between action and characterization. And the art did a perfect job of telling the story in a logical, entertaining fashion that pulled me into the story and kept me enthralled. Between this and Earth 2, I couldn't be happier.

Same here. In fact I might have even muttered "f**k that." when I chucked it back on the shelf. It's almost worse that she actually looks great as Supergirl.

Two of my favorite characters have always been Power Girl and the Helena Wayne version of the Huntress. I loved that there was a daughter of Batman and Catwoman, and I loved that Power Girl was so unique and independent -- a stark and intriguing contrast from Supergirl. I was disappointed when I first learned that my old favorites would not be featured in this title, but instead there would be a new take on them. I cringed at the thought of the Huntress once being Robin, and of Power Girl having once been SuperGirl. (The idea would have made the Power Girl of the 1970s All-Star Comics wretch).

Having said all that, I am trying to put my fondness for the old characters aside, and enjoy the new take on the Huntress and Power Girl, and I did. I liked this issue a lot. I enjoyed the story line, and the characterization, and I will look forward to continuing to try out the series.

One question though: when they came through the boom tube and woke up on the Main DCU earth, what led them to believe that they were in a parallel universe? There is no reason to think they even had an inkling there was a Multiverse, so how did they come to the conclusion they were on a different earth, and could someone find a way back? Wouldn't it have been equally plausible (or implausible, I guess) to assume that history had changed, as a result of some sort of FlashPoint-type event.

Huntress finds a newspaper with the teen/early twenties Superman on the front page. That's how they knew they were on Earth Prime. On Earth 2, their Superman was murdered fighting Darkseid's invasion and he was years older with a different costume.

But how did they knew there even was an Earth-Prime or a multiverse? If you woke up from a huge accident and disaster and the world was very different, why assume it was a parallel earth, and you could find a way back home? WE know to assume it is a parallel earth because we are aware of the multiverse, but there is no evidence that anyone on Earth 2 was aware of it, right?

I don't have the book right in front of me, but if I recall correctly Huntress makes the comment, "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore." Then the story jumps ahead 5 years. So, that statement about Kansas would seem to indicate they knew they weren't where (or when) they were supposed to be. The assumption is that Helena and Karen figured it out over the years; we just don't see the whole sequence where they figure out exactly where or when they are. And frankly, that would be kind of pointless for readers to see them figuring it out because we don't need to see that. At least, I sure don't.

jusdt adding my name to those above who enjoyed this first issue; a little confusing at times, but never so that I felt hopelessly lost, and I very much enjoyed the interplay between Power Girl and The Huntress... who've become a couple of my favorite characters.
