Ever since Doug smashed her face in, she's been exhibiting certain middle-class all-American traits.

I think he knocked Alison Crestmere loose in Amara's head.

To Wit: she keeps looking for waitressing jobs. She's 'dating' a badboy (a 'Fonzi') behind everyone's back.

One would imagine Mephisto with royalty, someone like Hela or a princess like Amara, but with Magma he gets it both ways. He gets the body and rank of a princess, but also the normalcy of a Alison Crestmere.

It strikes me that Amara is attracted to another blue-blood, Sunspot, while Alison, who has a personality and doesn't wear sandals everywhere, wants to climb the social ladder via Mephisto. Hence, the mixed signals to Sunspot.

Perhaps this mental conflict between Amara/Alison has resulted in Magma's recent ability to fly.
