More importantly, what's going on with Storm's facial expression in the above picture? Is she just chuckling at Namor's malapropism, or is his hand up to something we can't see off panel?

she's happy to be back amongst family. this is right after her big blowout with t'challa. i imagine storm is just glad to be a part of such a bizarre and welcoming conversation.

I suspect it's because he, like virtually any sensible person, realises that the Academy is a good place for the kids to be to avoid getting hurt. I'd go so far as to say he realises that Tigra (and by extension Pym as it's his facility) have no intention whatsoever of harming the kids, and certainly don't intend to "torture" anyone as some of the more... incendiary posters have claimed will happen (and in some cases already is, apparently).

One could even guess as to his finding so much common ground with Tigra is in part due to their both being widowed, on top of genuinely having the best interests of others at heart.

But of course this is all just crazy talk on my behalf, because why ever would a writer bother to script their characters as being reasonable and sensible when seemingly so many of the readers can't even begin to grasp the concept? Surely they need characters with whom they can relate! Yes. That's it.

Not reading AVX but i got the gist of that story.

here is my questions: 1. why couldn't the utopia X-men bring the kids to the Jean Grey school? that was never really explained to my satisfaction.

2. why did they jail Shaw? the Cuckoo could read his mind and tell he is or isn't a different person now and besides he hasn't done anything of note in ages, why does Magneto get a free pass but he doesn't?

3 not sure what the big deal about Shaw escaping is since we have no clue what his plans are sure he has that look on his face but since that was more of a meta reference to the Dark Phoenix Sage it tells us nothing about what he plans to do now that he has escaped.


4. think it's weird the one time that Mettle's girlfriend isn't jealous and bitchy to another girl is one who he has a lot in common with and helped him surf again.
her hugging Loa was kind of a shock.

Logan didn't want to bring them to the school. He said there was too much bad history, but that's a silly reason. The Jean Grey School is probably more likely to get involved in the AvX fight, though. spoilers:

As the Utopian kids said elsewhere, the school terrifies them. They probably would rather Avengers Academy to JGS.

They did read his mind and they know he's lying. However, Shaw is a mutant that is not an open criminal. Everything criminal he's ever done is in secret. Publicly, he's a pillar of the flatscan community with strong government ties, who has been an illegal prisoner of a shifty at best government.

Plus its just as possible, if not more so that CAP didn't want them at the school. AVX3 shows after they left the Academy he basically no longer trusted Wolverine. Wolverine might of suggested they go to the academy (we don't see that) but chances are it was never an option. Cap wants the kids at one of his bases, with his people.

Fraction could always bring her over to the Defenders. Especially if the Phoenix Force does bring back mutants - then we can have them start infiltrating all the other teams again.

IMO be nice to see her, Lyra and the new Power Man swing by Defenders. IMO, Fraction using Kate Bishop in Hawkeye should get replicated in other books.

Agreed. Kate Bishop is BY FAR the most interesting of the Young Avengers.

Not sure about that but IMO she is the only one to not get tainted by something. Still one of the only Fraction Ideas that sounds good to me. Teen characters are not getting solos so mentor team ups in the main titles, backups, event minis and more team books are the way to go.
