Yes but I did not say mini-skirts are for hookers. I was acknowledging that it can be drawn to look trashy, ala Michael Turner. When drawn that way it implies she is slutty and whorish which is how many people who have only paid attention to the highly sexualized drawings by Michael Turner, portraying a 15 year old girl. This without them considering that the Matrix Supergirl in her last few years wore a costume that showed off her navel and a mini-skirt as well that they go on to praise. When drawn tastefully it looks very young & spunky, such as Jamal Igle or George Perez drawings of the costume in Supergirl and the Brave & The Bold respectively.

but other than being overly skinny michael turners women arent very sexualized (other than witchblade, but thats the character), they rarley have big breast there isnt very many ass shots, so yeah????
specialy in that picture i dont see sexualzation or sluttyness in it in any way? (other than as i said the overly skinnyness)

look at thease 2 images there isnt much sexuazation ether

and how the hell does making a beautful character sexualized the same thing as making it trashy?

Truly, truly, wish I could say it's sexy, but then again, it's so obvious how this one's horribly dated:

PAD's Supergirl. I don't remember which issue, but an early one judging from the Gary Frank art.

Lamest Supergirl costume, my opinion; her "skorts", Supergirl vol. 4 #18-end of that title.

Really people, if she's gonna wear shorts, might as well just wear shorts, or hotpants, ala her towards-the-end Adventure Comics time - early Daring New Adventures. If she's gonna wear the part of the short skirt, might as well show off a little panty-shot time-to-time, as skirts that short enough are quite askin' for it. Skorts are just the ultimate denying tease, in the lamest way.

Also wondering a little; I'm definitely not complaining about them; but were there people that were, because apparently (most fortunately) there was no "magic skirts" used in the early-mid eighties latter end of Daring New Adventures?

Large breasts and full figures aren't necessary for sexualization. But in either case sometimes awkwardness happens. I'm sure we could all find pictures from an artist that we would personally think is too much.

Am I the only one who loved Bruce Timm's Supergirl design?

Maybe I'm just too attached to the Superman cartoon...

The thing that makes Turner's Supergirl look freaky is that weirdly elongated midriff. There's nothing sexy about that.

Turner drew her anorexic. Get that girl a sandwich and watch that she doesn't try to throw it up.

I liked the look. Could have changed the hairdo. Too 'Gwen Stacy' for Supergirl.

I also liked how she was written in her first appearance:
Superman: I thought I told you to stay out of trouble, Kara.
Supergirl: So who's in trouble? And it's Supergirl. See? (points to her 'S') Super, (points to her face) Girl."

For me it was Turner's noses that I found odd. Little too pug-like for my tastes. Very talented guy, though.

I like Turner's art, but I think Supegirl's skinniness looks like it's borderlining on anorexic.

HAH! I think my mind blocked out that fashion trauma those skorts were. Jesus how awful.

I love it as well, though I do prefer the blue top and flowing skirt of the other Timm piece.
