Flash Thompson
Kaine Parker
Miles Morales
Ben Reilly

I'm also thinking Peter will still be Spider-Man; but I'm also getting the feel that he'll become a full-time leader of a team. He's always been a member of the teams that he's been already—Avengers and Future Foundation—and he took the initiative to lead the Avengers in EotE, but he's never been an official leader. Maybe his leadership roles right now and in Spider-Island are preparations for that.
Johnny Storm was dead; who is this resurrected Johnny Storm?

I wish ben would come back as spidey that would be amazing .
Lets look at those replacements.
Superman gave us Steel and Superboy
Iron Man gave us War Machine
Firestorm gave us 4 different versions of him
Captain America gave us USA Agent
Thor gave us Thunderstrike
Everyone knew they were coming back at some point. Because you still had to have them in their place when you did movies. Nowhere in Marvel's cartoon/movie run have you seen the other versions of these guys unlike with DC where you had John Stewart as Green Lantern and pretty much helped in the bombing of the Green Lantern film.
Marvel has pretty much establish that there are other versions of Spider-Man out there in at least one of their cartoons.
If it is Miles-I'm thinking it's Marvel way of opening up the door for Miles being in the current Marvel Universe and any Spider-Man film to include him. However I would expect to see Peter back in action.
You and me both!! I mean Peter could be surrounded by villains such as the hobgoblin, scorpion, lizard, puma, etc and be all beat up when Ben Reilly swings into action and helps even the odds out. Then Peter, after something catastrophic happening in the comic, decides he needs a break and that's where Ben takes up the mantle until Peter is well enough and ready to fight again as Spiderman.
Actually, it was in more than 1 letter column over the past few months plus Slott dropped a few hints/teases in one of these threads. They are, of course, being deliberately vague and are just "chumming the waters" right now (and it's working!) but the repetitive phrase seems to be "we may have gone as far with Peter Parker as Spidey as we can". Something like that which at least opens the possibility that he will be temporarily replaced or sit out for awhile ala "Reign of the Supermen".
"What oldschool said"
The Shadow, 2008
Yeah, this goes waaaay back. I can't even remember now when Steve started throwing out the implications, but I think it was toward the beginning of Big Time. Maybe earlier.
Keep in mind that Dan Slott's had a huge notebook full of ideas from the very beginning....
Also worth noting is that Madame Webb threw out hints of a future tragedy because of Pete choosing to remain Spider-Man, and told him that the universe would find another if he did quit.
I don't see how you could walk away thinking something big isn't going to happen in ASM 700!

So first the marriage was the "problem", now the main character is the "problem"!
lol, I´m dying to know when the hero becomes the "problem".
Isn´t it easier to just replace the creative team rather than the main character, you know the one that people buy the books to read about?

I´m not saying that they aren´t!
Just geting a little sick and tired of these gimmicks!
They´ve already took me off USM, which was my favourite, by replacing Peter, now they´re saying that perhaps they´ve gone as far as they could with Peter?
If they, as a cretive team, feel that way, than by all means step aside for someone who thinks that there´re many more stories to be written!
