Flash Thompson
Kaine Parker
Miles Morales

Does anyone else think that maybe the clone from the group MVP might take over? hes been forgotten for so long now....maybe he gives peter a break? I prefer if it were Ben reilly but anyone is better than miles coming to 616
I'm fine with anything except Khaine (Because I'm loving him as Scarlet Spider), and Miles. I didn't like them killing Ultimate Pete for Ultimate Miles(though I have come to like him), so if they decide to shove him down my throat I'll probably drop ASM, and USM out of spite.

Well something big is going to happen to the character no doubt. The change is imminent, perhaps inevitable but, the result will be minimal. It will be quite temporary. The hints at Peter's death to me, seem like signs of a reboot. Not an entire series reboot but a character reboot. I think Peter will go through some type of death / rebirth scenario and come out with a partial mind wipe / memory loss. An excuse for the writers to sorta start over with the character. Im pretty confident in saying the Peter Parker will remain as Spidey.
While I wouldn't put it past Marvel to, once again, temporarily have Peter Parker give up being Spider-Man (especially in the wake of possibly failing to live up to his pledge of "no one dies on my watch"), the problem is there doesn't seem to have been much in the way of setting up Peter's new replacement. Sure, they have other "Spider-Men" in Flash Thompson and Kaine, but it seems clear that Marvel is keeping them where they are as Venom and Scarlet Spider respectively. Bringing in Miles Morales takes away from Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, and I doubt Marvel has any interest whatsoever in bringing back Ben Reilly.
That means it has to be some really out-of-field choice that's also a previously established character. You've got Uatu Jackson, but he might be seen too much as a copycat of Miles Morales. There's Grady Scraps, but he's more or less a comic relief "gadget guy." Phil Urich is just too far gone down the super-villain path as Hobgoblin. There's always the Prowler, I suppose, but he hasn't really established any relationship with Spidey's pre-existing supporting cast. And Harry Osborn, while certainly an ironic choice, is out, what with him being a divorcee with two kids.
The only person, then, I can possibly think of that could be a temporary Spider-Man who is a pre-existing character who has somewhat established relationships with the supporting cast is Vin Gonzales.

I don't think Pete's going anywhere, but just to spitball, another option to replace Pete would be Mary Jane. We still have that Big Time promo image of Mary Jane with spider powers that, assuming it wasn't a Spider-Island edit, has not yet come to pass. It could also (kinda) fit the Monkey's Paw reference: Pete and MJ get back to get together, but this time MJ is Spidey.
His memory's gone! Or...is it? It's not hard to fake amnesia! The Goblin is capable of anything!
I'm thinking that somehow Peter's spider powers might be transfered to another character at Horizon labs via somekind of accident. You don't really need to setup another character for the job of being Spider-Man if that character just suddenly receives Peter's powers...and it could be a new character altogether that gets them.

I think if they were going to do it Flash would be the most interesting choice.
I don't think they will, but if they did I'd like it to be in a style where Peter is on a sabbatical and fully intends to return to the role after a break. Flash wants to take the role when he realizes Spidey has left. And upon realizing that he will attempt to do so no matter what Captain America goes to Peter and recommends that he help Flash out. Basically, Peter could play a strong supporting role to Flash. I also think the fact that Flash would be completely unprepared for the role of Spider-man would be a bonus. I don't necessarily want him to fall apart in the role, but it's what would make him as a replacement more interesting.
Don't want Kaine for the role because 1. I don't like the idea of clone legacies at all and 2. I don't think Kaine would even kind of want the role.
I'd rather Ben stay gone I don't hate the character, but I don't think it'd be the most interesting switch.
I could see Miles and Pete some how being forced to swap universes at the end of Spider-men. Peter stuck in the ultimate universe has to deal with these strange versions of people he has spent years with both as Peter and Spider-man, and Miles has to learn to fend for himself in a universe without his family, maybe MJ adopts him. I don't love this idea, but I wouldn't hate it.
I would be pissed beyond reason if Peter would to stop being Spider-Man. Come ON! really?? Is replacing Peter Parker a trend at the Marvel Offices? Bad enough they did that in the Ultimate World
But if it does happen, it'll either be because Peter Parker is stranded in the ultimate universe (with or without Miles).
But really marvel? IDEAS MUCH?
