Default IGN: DC Villains vs. Marvel Villains Discussion

So, I found this article somewhat recently on IGN. Here's the link: http://comics.ign.com/articles/666/666073p1.html

Since the article doesn't have a discussion section, I figured that I'd make a discussion section here. In my opinion, the overall outcome should have been a tie with the Roster category going to DC. I mean, the major villains in the Marvel Universe are really great. However, outside of Spidey's rogues and the heavy hitters: Magneto, Dr. Doom, Red Skull, Apocalypse, Mephisto, Kang, Loki, Ultron, and Galactus, who else does Marvel have? Taskmaster? Mandarin? Purple Man? IMHO, DC has a much larger roster of great villains. You have pretty much all of Batman's villains, which includes the Joker, Catwoman, and Ra's al Ghul among others, but then you also have other A-list villains like Darkseid, Sinestro, Lex Luthor, Brainiac, General Zod, Gorilla Grodd, Deathstroke, Reverse Flash/Professor Zoom (Eobard Thawne), and Black Adam. And at the same time, there's a whole bunch of great B-list villains: Maxwell Lord, Ares, Captain Cold, Black Manta, Cheetah, Mongul, Cyborg Superman, the Anti-Monitor, Bizarro, Vandal Savage, Krona, Atrocitus, Metallo, Parasite, Solomon Grundy, etc. So, you see my point. I think Roster should have definitely gone to DC, making the whole thing a tie.

Anyway, enough of my ranting. What do you guys think of the whole comparison and which universe's villains would get your vote?

I don't see what the difference is. Marvel Villains have just as many psycho's as DC. You just pick form one to set up a story. Are you suggesting DC villains are more powerful than Marvels? That would be very subjective from anybody's point of view. The both companies have very similar stables of villains and I wouldn't like to split them. Nobody has more or less than anybody else.
Visited NY and DC and saw Spider-Man Turn off the Dark.

Agree 100% there is more in common with both companies then people like to admit.

No, I'm not saying that Marvel's villains are less powerful. Heck, I think some of Marvel's villains could mop the floor with some of DC's. I am saying that I think Marvel has a smaller roster of "great" or "important" villains, so that makes me believe that the "Roster" category should have been decided in DC's favor. However, I do think Marvel deserved the win in some of the other categories given, especially "Motive"

This is too deep for me. What sort of categories are you comparing the two companies by besides "Roster as great and important", and "Motive"?

With Thanos, Satannish, and Dormammu on the Marvel side, you'd hand the victory to DC?

DC has the Anti-Monitor; with enough antimatter absorbed, he's nearly omnipotent. And that's not even counting crazy one-issue/arc threats like the Original Darkness and the Decreator.
