I'm just a casual Batfan so you guys are gonna have to help me..I was looking through the Batman Black and White statues and I noticed this.. I had already thought the statue was awesome, but I didn't notice it said (Dick Grayson) in the description. Another site says it commemorates a time where Dick Grayson wore the bat suit. Can anyone tell me when this happened? I'd really like to read it.
"Designed by renowned artist Jock and using only monochromatic colors, this statue depicts Dick Grayson's acrobatic abilities as the Dark Knight. Be sure to add this unique moment in Bat-history to your collection" -DC

Reason: add info
As to why Dick wore the suit, there was Batman R.I.P. (available in tpb) resulting in Bruce's apparent "death", and there was also Battle for the Cowl (also available in tpb), which explains why Dick decided to take on the role.
(And F.Y.I., Dick hadn't been "Robin" in the comic books for almost thirty years or so at this point?)
I already preordered mine, so if you wanta know where to get it let me know.. i'm not sure if I can post product links on the forum. I picked up the Darwyn Cooke version as well. They're not that bad in price when compared to other collectors statues out there.
Besides dick all the robins have tried on the suit. The battle for cowl shows it.
I didn't know about that.. but I mean, putting on the suit is one thing. Doing an epic maneuver like this is awesome.
All my batman knowledge pretty much comes from the old animated series. I've only just gotten back into picking up bat books, but these statues are stunning
Dick posed as Batman from time to time dating back to the 70's. In 1994, he took over the role of Batman for a fourteen part arc called "Prodigal", as well as appearing in Showcase 94 #12. Later, he donned the costume to fill in for Bruce while he was detained by the police as a murder suspect. From "Battle For The Cowl" through "Flashpoint", Dick was Batman while Bruce was absent and then later on after he came back, he stuck with it for a while longer, before going back to being Nightwing.

I'm impressed! Most people never remember the "Prodigal" storyline! It followed the whole Knightfall-Quest-End storylines so closely that it gets overlooked! I was always bummed that Bruce selected Azrael instead of Dick anyway and felt that story showed that it was possible for him to be the bat years before that terrible RIP story came about.
