Considering the length of time before the next major blockbuster, this movie has the potential to hit ~$700million, maybe even $800million. I don't think it'll hit $1 billion but, it will have a very good run in theaters especially if it's as good as everyone's been saying.

I think if it makes 500 million it's first weekend, its going to make a lot more than 700 million.
a 50% drop in week two would mean it has earned 750 million.

Oh, I suspect word of mouth will keep the Avengers Box Office high. Although the $500 million figure includes all of last weeks take from overseas as well, which is about half of that. So if you figure it does make $500 million by the end of the weekend and then does have a 50% drop off in the US, the figures would still be only about $630 million for the total take after next weekend.

I think that it could well make the $1.2 billion easily though. Probably more than that.
