616 is fictional. He belongs anywhere writers choose to write him.

Or Stephen Colbert could play Luke Cage in the movie and they could replace 616 Luke with a Colbert Cage. It is a fictional universe.

That's just how ridiculous the Fury thing is. It's the same freakin' thing.

Don't replace originals!!!!! (PS I know thety say the real Nick isn't going anywhere, but I'm still worried. It's only a matter of time untill a crappy writer comes along and says "wait a minute. we have two Nick Furys. Let's kill the white one off."

Sam Fury does NOT belong in 616!!!!
I agree. I'm black and while I'd love to see more characters of color featured prominently in comics, simply replacing old characters with all new, but really the same black versions is not that appealing to me.

They have before...in with the Ulimates. With Captian America.

And it's not same thing and you know this example is BEYOND stupid. You wonder why Marvel totally ignores you guys. This is it. Nick isn't being replaced. Nick hasn't done what Marcus is going to do since the 60's.

This is no different then Luke Cage and the New Power man. Try making some sense, instead of incredible leaps in logic.

Wow, this is beyond stupid. Colbert is not Luke Cage anywhere. It's clear what your issue is. If Luke were made like Colbert and was staring in 9 major marvel movies and they wanted to do this, it would be the same. This doesn't make sense. Smh.

But seriously, I hate when they introduce a character of color as a knock off of a white character and most people hate them. Even when it kind of turns out well, the character is wrecked in favor of a more popular character which is more of the same. For example, Patriot annoyed me at first but then I grew to like him. But unfortunately female Hawkeye became popular and interesting elements were lost in favor of a jr. Hawkeye. I always wondered how they'd resolve her brutal rape by black men with her budding relationship with a black male... guess we'll never know since she became more like regular Hawkeye, leader of the team, and Patriot got dumped and turned into Young Avenger Bishop (screwed the mutants, gave Dr. Doom powers, and by proxy got Stature killed/Vision killed). Fun!

New "fury" is crap... he could have been interesting if it was not a sad movie tie in. A true, "Son of Fury" or "Fury" book (actually, I would have bought a book with that title), about them getting to know each other while taking down the organization that killed his mother. Also, why is Marvel obsessed with black men having bald heads? It will get to the point I can't tell them apart... well, it probably won't matter if I do because they tend to not last long anyway (except Cage)... this is so sad...

It makes just as much sense as making Jackson Fury.

As a black dude, I agree with you there. I have no problems with Nick Fury having a black son, the introduction of Marcus as a character or even having them bond in a Son of Fury series. I just hate that they feel that the only way to introduce a new black character was to make him a knock off of an existing, great character and Samuel L cool. I think most people were turned off by them force feeding it to us, when they should have let it naturally ride. At least let him keep his deceased mother's name. That said, it will be fun to see where they do take him.

AND PLEASE STOP WITH THE BALD HEAD/GOATEE. We do have other hair styles. Patriot is gonna return with a soul patch lol. Sam Wilson, T'challa, they're coming for you

I agree, essentially. I don't think anyone is happy with a forcefed cinematic Fury. Inorganic genesis' are always really obnoxious.
That said: I actually like the character fine, no matter how or why we got him, and while Fury Sr. has always been a great character, he's also mostly been a character that's essentially on the fringes. I never read Secret Warriors, so I don't have any major attachment to him as a main character and I have no problem with a next generation, ESPECIALLY because Nick Sr. will be back in what? Between 2-5 years at full capacity? This is just a blip of difference, just like everything the big two does, before the status quo returns. I say try to enjoy it if you can, but I perfectly understand why a fan wouldn't be able to, as well.

Agent Coulson's nickname should be Coleslaw - served with plenty of good food but not a necessity
