Unless, of course, you're with Marvel, DC, or any other entertainment related company.

I've said it doesn't matter in some sense. But aren't you interested in what it might mean as far as the audience interest?

No interest at all. I don't care about "the audience", period.

Doesn't matter, but in the end TDKR will make more money (IMHO).

    - It's the end of a Trilogy (they tend to always outdo their prequels)

    - People know this is Nolan's final Batman film

    - Batman is just more popular and recognized esp overseas

    - July is a more favorable release date (school's out, no Mother's Day, no NBA playoffs)

    - Lesser competition to deal with (no Battleship, no Prometheus, no Men In Black 3, no Spider-Man)

It's actually not fair to compare The Dark Knight Rises to The Avengers. If anything it should be TDKR vs The Avengers 3.

But again that's just an opinion.

I'd go ahead and pretty much guarantee that TDKR makes more money then The Avengers.

It doesn't mean anything and doesn't judge the quality of the films but just saying.

I wonder if Vegas will have a line going on these two.

More people seem to be excited for DKR outside comic fans than for Avengers. At least where I live.

The Hobbit will kill them both imo.

I'll be seeing The Dark Knight Rise, Avengers, and Amazing Spider-man but I hope TDKR beats them in the Box Office, hopefully it will make DC make more movies

I want all films to do well if they deserve it. But if TDKR wins, i'd like it to be a small margin from the Avengers. WB already has the childishly simple idea that Nolan + grimdark + realism = success. GL's failure hammered the point down even further. If TDKR demolishes the Avengers, then we can only expect clinical + grimdark + serious business superhero movies out of DC.

They're already kneeling in front of Nolan so that he can deliver a good Superman movie, a good Batman reboot after TDKR. "Please Nolan, deliver us from our sins! We have no sense of taste or logic. Why did Catwoman, B&R and GL fail but the Avengers didnt?"

If they are not worshipping Morrison, they are worshiper Snyder or Nolan.

I think Avengers will out earn TDKR. Just for the fact that it pulls all of marvels huge hits (Thor, Cap, IM) off of the table into one big pile... like the guy that wins the poker jackpot.. Marvel films is going to be raking in the chips. TDKR will be good.. it will make a lot of money.. but IMO Avengers has the momentum right now.

Avengers will be at $500 million worldwide on Sunday so..I mean, good luck Nolan? Less hype, no additional 3D ticket sales, from an objective viewpoint I really can't see how anyone thinks TDKR will surpass The Avengers in box office grosses.

I mean, it's going to open with at least 150 million in the US opening weekend.
