ace had been wrestling for 4 years and was wrestling for the 2nd biggest promotion in the US. in his 5th/6th year he was wrestling big time matches for AJPW when they were doing their best business.

well if people are attacking him for being a loser they should be reminded he had a career in japan. he was fairly successful in the US(NWA jim crockett was a little bit more of a big deal than rottens IWA MS) early in his career, then found a great deal of success in AJPW. he had a successful career in PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING, why hold it against him that he was more successful in japan than the US??

it really goes against punks character and smark-friendly image to be such a jackass as to dismiss ace's career because he found success outside of the US.
Because the WWE audience doesn't give a shit about japan, that's the core of the issue here.
He wasn't a star in the states, Punk went to japan, sure, then he came to WWE, now he's a star. Johnny wasn't, these people don't watch japanese wrestling, and they certainly weren't watching japanese wrestling in 1995.
Also, why the fuck would Punk give the heel gm props for his japanese career that people don't even know about? That doesn't make sense.
The gimick is he's a corporate loser. Not he's a corporate loser who did very well in japan.

Rock buried Juvie as a loser, and he was on WCW when it was kicking Raws ass. That's just common wrestling talk.
Johnny had a brief and not very successful run in WCW (before it had taken off )and then went to japan, nothing about how well he did in japan is going to make him into a star here.
And in addition, Punk said he went to japan because he couldn't cut it here, so the entire point was that he had to go to japan. It doesn't matter that work rate was higher in japan to the audience who doesn't know or care about japanese wrestling.

Look at albert for christs sake, he went to japan and did well, they are trying to put him over by pointing out that he was so big there, and the audience doesn't care about him, and he's beating up Punk and Cena.

There's not point in trying to get it over that johnny was a big deal 20 years ago in another country, punk definetly shouldn't be doing it because he's the face and johnny is the heel.

no it's not because i was never talking about the WWE universe, i was addressing things YOU posted and things YOU said to be true, not true in the eyes of the WWEU.

He wasn't a star in the states, Punk went to japan, sure, then he came to WWE, now he's a star.
but you're leaving out the part where punk failed in japan and johnny didn't. it's not like johnny came back and had to work high school gyms when he returned from japan, johnny stayed until he retired.

Johnny wasn't, these people don't watch japanese wrestling, and they certainly weren't watching japanese wrestling in 1995.
that's all fine and dandy but the problem is on the same show they tell us ace was a champion and show us pictures of him in japan holding trophies and shit.

Also, why the fuck would Punk give the heel gm props for his japanese career that people don't even know about? That doesn't make sense.
The gimick is he's a corporate loser. Not he's a corporate loser who did very well in japan.
who said punk should give him props?? the easy thing to do would not say bullshit about it. make fun of the dynamic dudes, call him an ass kisser and all that.

Rock buried Juvie as a loser, and he was on WCW when it was kicking Raws ass. That's just common wrestling talk.

not what i'm talking about at all. it wouldn't bother me one bit if they never mentioned johnny ever wrestled a match in his life

And in addition, Punk said he went to japan because he couldn't cut it here, so the entire point was that he had to go to japan.
and you don't see what a dumb ass thing to say that is(in the real world not in the WWEU) especially for punk??

It doesn't matter that work rate was higher in japan to the audience who doesn't know or care about japanese wrestling.
again not what i'm talking about at all, but if the audience doesn't know or care about jpanese wrestling the WWE might want to stop talking about it on tv

Look at albert for christs sake, he went to japan and did well, they are trying to put him over by pointing out that he was so big there, and the audience doesn't care about him, and he's beating up Punk and Cena.
i should've known i wasn't clear enough for you when i xpressed my thoughts on alberts gimmick not being a good idea, so i'll try and be as clear as possible now. i think alberts gimmick is a bad idea and not doing him any favors.

There's not point in trying to get it over that johnny was a big deal 20 years ago in another country, punk definetly shouldn't be doing it because he's the face and johnny is the heel.
is this even directed at me?? i know i never suggested either of those things.

Mr. Backlund continued wrestling under the new gimmick of an out of touch, yet highly dangerous, maniac out to teach the new generation a lesson.[3] He often appeared in business suits, had a hyperactive personality, and used (or, often, misused) large words to sound important. He also demanded that he be addressed as "Mr. Backlund". He would only sign autographs for wrestling fans if they could recite the names of all of the US Presidents in chronological order

I don't even know what you are trying to say anymore.
Are you saying his time in japan shouldn't be brought up at all then? Because johnny is the one who brought it up trying to put himself over, punk came out after.
Or are you trying to say he was succesful because he was once in a tag team in WCW?
That puts him at the same level as about 500 other guys over the years who were in tag teams that never took off.
I don't understand what Punk not doing well in japan has to do with anything, Punk is a star now, johnny is having his most success in america right now as well, as a heel gm, not as a wrestler. He didn't lie, he responded to what Ace already brought up.
The entire angle is structured to make johnny look like a failure, that's the story. The pictures you brought up? One of them was him holding the belt looking as goony as humanly possible, and again, the villian was the one who showed the picture.
And no, i don't think it's stupid to say that in a real world context, he was in the fucking dynamic dudes tag team in pre bischoff post Hulkamania WWF taking off WCW. Punk never said he sucked in japan, he said he sucked here. If the levels of what constitutes a success in wrestling is now "Was once in a tag team for a major promotion" then we need to start putting over erik watts. Who got a singles push in WCW also.

The WON pointed out that with RAW's taping time starting over an hour earlier than before (in a few months it begins) it seems that WWE is preparing to start filming a new show at that time. The cruiserweight show perhaps?
