This is true, however, it is breaking the fourth wall to a ridiculous amount. Punk didn't say Ace left America because he couldn't stand the competition, he said Ace left because he couldn't draw money. Absolutely nothing to do with his skill in the ring in the sport he chose to compete in.

And when Punk was in a feud with HHH he was instructed to break kayfabe while hhh kept it and made Punk look stupid, that's a problem with the writers.

It would have been more in character for Punk to come out and air his grievances over how there's not enough attention is focused on the heavyweight title. Punk/Danielson should be the main event at Over The Limit but I certainly would not bet on it.
We know it won't be the main event, Punk said after his match he is going to watch Cena's match.
He and the title are being shit on and he's dropping his pants to help. Probably because he's making more money than he has ever made and doesn't want to lose his spot. Which is ironic considering how he got that spot.

At least then it makes sense that he is in the main event every month.

Because Del Rio and Sheamus has absolutely no heat and Jericho and Orton have nothing better to do.

Eh, Sheamus will be fine once he gets away from Bryan, i am fully confident of this.

I am a big fan of the Great White Fella, but he needs some opponents that the fans care about and really bring out Sheamus personality. I would make this fourway grouping a 3 month long thing at minimum.

The shows both lack over heels more than anything right now, Jericho is probably leaving so they need to find something to do with Del Rio more than anything.

Its gone now that we have the Raw Supershow.
The problem is, Smackdown is still Smackdown. So we get the smackdown stars on Raw, and rarely get jack on smackdown.
Shit, Bryan is the biggest heel on Smackdown, and he's wrestling for the Raw title.

And just to throw in, i know what they are doing with this putting the belt on Punk but having Cena be the main event thing.
From there point of view, both are top guys, but they appeal to different segments of the fanbase. This isn't totaly true as kids like Punk, but a lot of the male audience hates Cena, that's fine in theory, keep everyone happy and that.
But the belt is on punk basicly so they can show he's a top guy, but when he's cutting promos more about Cena's match then his own it doesn't do anything but diminish the title.

that's the kind of shit that makes punk come off like a bully against big johnny. also people making fun of his voice. you wouldn't see babyfaces making fun of foley for having one ear.

how did he fail?? he started in 86 and by the time he left in 90 was working for the NWA on PPV. that's like saying punk was a failure until he got signed to the WWE.

umm you do realize that ace is a heel and heels sometimes xaggerate about their accomplishments??
Mr. Backlund continued wrestling under the new gimmick of an out of touch, yet highly dangerous, maniac out to teach the new generation a lesson.[3] He often appeared in business suits, had a hyperactive personality, and used (or, often, misused) large words to sound important. He also demanded that he be addressed as "Mr. Backlund". He would only sign autographs for wrestling fans if they could recite the names of all of the US Presidents in chronological order

He went to japan because he wasn't a big star here and could make more money there.
He wasn't a star here, Punk wasn't a failure before WWE exactly,he hadn't "made it" yet though. But when the vast majority of people who watch wrestling don't know who you are i don't think you can really be called a success, because it's an entertainment based business and success is based on how big of a star you are on how big of a stage.
He was in the dynamic dudes, that was his united states career, and he held a flag for the sheephearders. He was less of a star than Grand Master Sexay.

And im not shitting on Ace for being a heel, im questioning Dick/Babs weird obssesion with the career of johnny ace. Because every time someone attacks him for being a loser he comes in and feels like we have to be reminded he had a career in japan.
What Punks said is true, the overwhelming majority of american wrestling fans don't remember the guy as a wrestler, and if they did remember, im pretty sure they aren't fondly looking back on the great team of the dyanamic dudes.

Edit: And for the record, it would be more like if i said Punk was a failure until he got a title belt.

punk also went to japan in 2003, was it because he had failed?? he'd been wrestling for 3yrs and was working for ian rotten in front of 20 people and most certainly was not a star even close to grand master sexay. of course when you fail at wrestling in the US it's easy to go to japan and become a star, well maybe not for punk but you know what i mean.

ace had been wrestling for 4 years and was wrestling for the 2nd biggest promotion in the US. in his 5th/6th year he was wrestling big time matches for AJPW when they were doing their best business.

well if people are attacking him for being a loser they should be reminded he had a career in japan. he was fairly successful in the US(NWA jim crockett was a little bit more of a big deal than rottens IWA MS) early in his career, then found a great deal of success in AJPW. he had a successful career in PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING, why hold it against him that he was more successful in japan than the US??

it really goes against punks character and smark-friendly image to be such a jackass as to dismiss ace's career because he found success outside of the US.
