back in the late 90's i bought these for my nephews for xmas, years later they were passed down to my son and other nephew, they loved those damn things.

Mr. Backlund continued wrestling under the new gimmick of an out of touch, yet highly dangerous, maniac out to teach the new generation a lesson.[3] He often appeared in business suits, had a hyperactive personality, and used (or, often, misused) large words to sound important. He also demanded that he be addressed as "Mr. Backlund". He would only sign autographs for wrestling fans if they could recite the names of all of the US Presidents in chronological order

Bad news for Legato, Raw's overrun segment gained 711,000 viewers, with a giant increase in teenage boys.
So AJ talking for 20 minutes worked to build the segment.
And you know what WWE does when something seems to work.

I would have scream Fuck you Vince on the way out. Unless the paycheck was that great.
You know, long before Vince turned heel on WWF TV, Backlund once promised to put him in the chicken wing before he retired, and as far as I know, he still hasn't followed through. I still believe in Mr. Backlund, though. Your time is coming, Vince!

Vince had a confrontation with Mr. Backuland? so Steve Austin was not the first?

Actually, Meltzer is currently arguing with the board right now, because he thinks the payoff of the marriage angle drew in the teenagers, not AJ.
Because Teenage boys are always interested in MARRIAGE ANGLES.

This is one of those times I think meltzer has no clue what he is saying.

We're trying to convince him of that.
He said that since she hasn't drawn in any other segment, and to be fair, she hasn't, and since Bryan and punk haven't been drawing particularly well, which is also true, they didn't do this good last week, that it must have been the tease of who she was leaving with, since it was the only thing that was different.
It has been pointed out to him that he has hated the AJ angle since it started, and every single time Punk and Bryan have gotten an increase in viewers he had an excuse for it.

something like that...honestly, these people - Meltzer included are basically entertainment reporters

like a Billy Bush or Ryan Seacrest...nothing they say really means anything so I don't get why people value their opinions

as far as news he's as reliable a source as you'll find in prowrestling(which isn't saying a whole lot), but his opinions i personally value about as much as lance storms(not at all really).

Ryan Seacrest seems to be reliable, he knows how big ScarJos ass is...doesn't make him any more worthwhile

and whats worse is that these troglodytes fancy themselves "journalists"

He was a journalist under technical terms, he had a press pass and wrote that UFC column.
Now, journalists aren't exactly highly thought of these days, and if i had a videogame blog i could get a press pass for E3.
