I had the impression that it was some sleazy MJ wannabe or look alike. The dialogue was added for our amusement by practical Joke Johnny at Peteys' expense.

I assume it was Mary Jane he was dancing with, because that's just the sort of things comics do, and it's not like Mary Jane has ever been adverse to parties or dancing with other guys (even while married).

And it's that fact that makes the joke a bigger deal. Since Peter would have seen them dancing together. A thread of truth sells the lie, as it were.

Peter and Mary Jane are getting back together.

Dan Slott stated that they'll get back together just not the way we want it.

So Slott's going to "reunite" Peter and MJ, but so as not to rehash the same territory he's going to change the dynamics. Maybe a role reversal of sorts.
