Jebus ! What happened to Robinson's writing ? This is terrible.
It had always been rumored that Archie Goodwin was "ghost-writing" Starman and now I think I believe it.
I don't think there is any chance that Goodwin didn't have a huge amount of input in smoothing out Robinson's dialog. It's no coincidence that he brought on David Goyer IMMEDIATELY upon Archie's death to co-write the book, and pretty much all of his comic work fell apart thereafter, until his return, which has been has been a mixed bag.
That said, his Shade is amazingly good, so I think it's a matter more of writing one very unique voice and having to have characters that fit that, rather than catering his writing to various character types.

Newsarama gives E-2 a 9/10 and gives Worlds' Finest the same. I pray they are right and I am wrong. I want to love these comics.
I was expecting the Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman of Eath-2 to be older than this: did they still fight in World War II or not? I seriously hope this doesn't solely focus on the "Big 3"--I wanna see the other JSA members, Robin in particular (and PLEASE let him still have that Neal Adams designed costume with the yellow leggings--I LOVE that one)! Diana's line about being The Last Amazon makes it obvious that we probably won't be seeing Donna Troy on this Earth, either.:( Damn it, DC, would it kill you to let her show up somewhere?
Thus do I write the first chapter of my new scripture. And the first verse is "Let it all burn."
PHOENIX INVICTUS!
I am surprised that so many people are missing the obvious plot twist that's coming at the end of Earth 2 #1. I am confident that Superman and Wonder Woman will not be hooking up.
