As for the Darkseid/multiverse question, it doesn't make any sense to have a different Darkseid for each earth. Darkseid is already from a parallel universe. If the JL and JSA can travel between parallel universes (and they will be able to) certainly Darkseid can.
It is just too hard for me to think about Thomas/Selina pairing......And early World's Finest interview already spoiled who are Helena's parents....
Yes, it is a different earth, but if we look back to history, most of earth share many core elements.
I understand if you do not like Bruce been Batman or something, but most cases, it will be him.

    She was died.
” "Right out of the gate that should tell you we’re dealing with a different kind of Dark Knight here. More ruthless, dangerous…the costume is familiar and yeah, there is a Wayne under the mask, but we’re looking at a man desperate to save the only family he has left.

I suppose the greatest irony of this issue is that the costumes are better than the New 52 designs...although apparently Jim Lee designed at least the Superman costume here as well. Go figure.

My first reaction (and I'm not the first to say so) is that this series looks like DC's response to the latest rendition of The Ultimates, a new universe with a catastrophic history in which some of the most iconic characters from the regular universe have been removed from the equation. It's not a bad premise, and the art strikes me as a happy medium between Jim Lee and Bryan Hitch, but the Parademon invasion seems like a repetitive way to kick things off. Even if it's important for the threat to come from Apokolips, there is still a wider palette to work from.

The daring creative decisions in this issue are undercut by the predictable and repetitive creative decisions, with the unfortunate result that the alternative universe seems to closely bound to the recent issues of JLA, even as the plot turns elsewhere. It's consistent with DC's recent pattern of branching out in ways that simultaneously simplify and point backwards toward the familiar. Pretty though.

Of course I like Bruce as Batman. He's my favorite superhero and I've been reading his comics since I first saw Superfriends in 1973, when I was four. So I've been a Bruce/Batman fan for 39 years. I was answering a post that said it wasn't possible for it to be anyone but Bruce and my point was that anything was possible. Especially given the New 52, in which editorial continuity decisions are made and reversed nearly every day.

I don't think that's proof. Maybe they had Helena out of wedlock. Then, presto, they're not family; she's just Bruce's baby mama.

I still wish The Huntress had turned out to be the daughter of Bruce and Diana.

I am also really hoping for an E-2 Dick Grayson. Even if it has to be Robinson that writes him. He doesn't have to be a direct member of the Bat-family; just for him to exist and be an important character on this earth would be cool. Of course, what I wish for is the grey costume with the mixed Robin and Batman insignias, but that is just because I am a middle-aged man that can't let go of the comics of his youth.

Saw Pandora in Worlds Finest but not on Earth 2. Clearly she's on Earth Prime, I guess.

I think it makes sense from DC's perspective of trying to gain new readers. Not everyone has the same familiarity with Earth-2, so it makes sense to parallel it with the new Justice League: Start with recognizable characters fighting a recognizable enemy so new readers can get their footing, and then veer off in a new direction that highlights how this world is different.

Anyone wonder why Steppenwolf had a normal human-like appearance here but was shown in JL along with Desaad as just kinda shadows? I was thinking about it and thought it'd be kinda cool if their true appearance on Apokolips is kinda imperceivable hence their appearance when Superman is taken there, but when they enter the multiverse they take forms beings can perceive.

Ooo, really like that Alan Scott design.

Wow! Great costume. I was thinking they would do it all green, something like the one in Kingdom Come. But that seems better. It looks a little like the uniforms of the GL Corps. Is there any chance that means that now the GL of E-2's powers will be based on science and not magic?

Overall I love the design, save for the shoulders. They just look a bit too big for me. What is he going to do in his off time? Play Space-Football? But other than that it's great.
