I wouldn't call her a 'psychic vampire,' but I appreciate the sentiment. Her scenes are repetitive and middling.

Frankly, I think Jessica Drew has been 100 times worse... even if she isn't in New Avengers anymore.

Actually, Luke Cage, Power Man, the original Hero for Hire, I love. I can't stand Duke Chain, Bendis stereotypical version on the character, worse than anything blacxpoitation ever gave us. You should read John Ostranders Heroes for Hire series back in the late 90's. That's how the character should be written, and that's who I want to see again.

    Peace

Yes. Luke Cage and Jessica at least have a legit storyline going... and it's reasonably interesting. I liked how he defused the crowd at their door by asking them flat out if they thought he would hurt them... it wasn't the smartest thing to do but it showed heart. Jessica, while annoying, at least has a legit protective streak and she really loves her hubby.

Jessica Drew is just pathetic and annoying. She's a 15 year old girl in a 30 year old super-secret-agent's body. Unfortunately both those characters are done better elsewhere (Academy and Widow/mockingBird/anyone else).

This is a less angry version of what I was saying. I don't hate him arbitrarily, Bendis makes him terrible.
    Comics are more better.

I love Jessica Jones and her and Luke's kiddo. And she has been used very well in different series (see Young Avengers, and Alias). Bendis has just... been sucking lately on New Avengers. There is nothing wrong with the character that letting Bendis go off of NA won't resolve.

There are no bad characters, just poorly written ones. Seems that most of the time Bendis just writes characters poorly. Should be expected by now.

i thought the last issue of NA was pretty good, and it seemed to recon Jean Grey's existence, which is a plus.

That was a hard issue for me to get a handle on. But I can safely say I was referring to a number of other issues between that point and Fear Itself.
