I saw the multiplayer trailers and read through the description and all I could think of was FAT PRINCESS

they also said that mp is just there to give the game lasting appeal, and it actually looks fun

I think you are talking about a different game. You are thinking of the Sony character fighting game, we are talking about a God of War game with multi-player added to it.

I said all I could think was Fat Princess not that I saw her
the mechanics of mp sound just like FP, its team based, where each team is composed of which god they claim alliance to, there are various points in the map that you can take and you must constantly defend/re-take them in order to make the Cyclops(Fat Princess) come to your side and you can kill it

so its a map with various points you need to claim in order to get the target and win the game
the team needs to gang up on the target in order to make it faster and easier to do, in Fat Princess the more players you had carrying the fat ass the easier it was to get her to your side of the map

I'm not saying the character Fat Princess is in it BUT the mechanics of multiplayer seem very similar, mind you this is a great thing FP is insanely fun

No, not really. Y'see, most games these days have this thing called a "budget", which is like a big pile of money that the developers need to spend to make their game. And the single player, multiplayer, voice acting and everything else all comes out of this big pile.

So in other words, money would be spent on multiplayer that would otherwise be going to single player. So fewer lines for David Hayter and whoever else they would've felt like hiring for Codec conversations.

And you don't think that maybe the drastic increase in traditional cutscenes (over 9 hours worth) that the writers had to handle had more of an impact on the Codec conversations than the completely unrelated work the multiplayer devs were doing?

This reminds me of PC gamers blaming everything under the sun on console games, regardless of how much sense it actually makes.

He didn't have fewer lines though. Those lines just went into the insane amount of cutscenes as opposed to codec conversations. Not only that, it took David Hayter 9 months to record his lines for MGS4 as opposed to the 2-4 weeks it took him to record MGS1, 2 and 3.

So no, multiplayer didn't do a damn thing to MGS4's script.

I don't know about the Uncharted and MGS' multiplayer. Never played them, and never played Uncharted. But the other two,

Mass Effect - Don't really see a problem. I thought it was a nice addition. But is survival the only mode it has? I would've liked some skirmish modes for it.

Assassin's Creed - Hell, it was something I wanted since the first game. When Brotherhood came out, it was the first thing I checked out. I thought it was fun, but admittedly wasn't what I wanted. I was hoping for co-op assassination. But no matter.

As for God of War? I don't have an opinion on it. It may work, it might fail. I don't mind a hack and slasher getting multiplayer. I mean, didn't it work for other button masher games like TMNT and The Simpsons? Or is it because is God of War? I never played the third game, but as far as I'm concerned, I think the story if finished. Or did it end with a "to be continued" looking scene?

    1: Yoda can beat God
2: Blaster pistols can blow up planets

5: Star Destroyers can blow up planets

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is not canon to anything. Nor is the new Clone Wars movie.

This is fine as long as the single player portion of the game doesn't suffer because the dev team are focusing more on multiplayer. As long as that doesn't happen, they could put multiplayer functions on every single game to ever be released in the future.

If I were a single man playing this by myself I might have a different opinion here, but being that my wife is a huge gamer and we're always looking for awesome 2-player story mode games, this is incredible news! We've played through all the good ones (Resistance, Gears of War, Left 4 Dead, etc) and are left without anything to play together. I'm a huge God of War fan, so is she. Having a game we can play together (and again, in story mode, not just like battle mode or something) is just awesome.

Never played an online multi-player, so I don't have much opinion there. Haven't played a game with more than one person since like Goldeneye for Nintendo 64! :D

I really like that they aren't going to make it split screen. All of the co-op games we've played are and I feel like we're missing out on really seeing the full extent of the game, because I never go back and play it through full screen, single player, y'know?

I'm looking forward to it! And those images they were showing with the blood all over the place, just looked awesome!
