Plenty of people have posted great looking pics of her and you've posted none so your argument is pretty dead. Every character hasn't looked their best underneath some artist. There isn't some note to Perkins that says "CeCe is supposed to not be pretty!". I'm sure we can find some dog-ugly Gambit pics that will make us wonder why she'd bother with him.

I don't really know why some are so bothered with this. It's not like they're in a full blown relationship, just friends who banter a bit at the moment, with a chance that they might get "freaky" down the line. Gambits kinda just a bridge to bring CeCe into the book to be the books medic or whatever.

So even if you've read all her appearances in each of those books, you're judging her on six minor cameos while refuting the core years of her development because the art is "highly stylized." And Phil Noto did not draw her ugly.



She's a career woman and everything (from fashion, to appearance) comes second to her duty: saving people's lives. If that's not good enough for you, then remember that Gambit, Beast, Iceman, Magott and Daredevil have all been into her, despite her "homely" looks.

I concur. And while she's no Marvel universe fashionista, she's one of the most attractive characters; who has displayed qualities that a lot of other characters just talk about or have attributed to them by "factbooks".

I always liked Cecilia, and Gambit (except for the just-before-Antarctica period where he was all mopey and self-loathing).

I think they make awesome friends, with Remy being an unrelenting flatterer and Cecilia seeing right through him. I feel it's too early in the relationship for anything more.

I think she is georgous and a good fit for Gambit. He needs a strong woman to push him and keep him in check a bit. Rouge always seemed just to much of a pushover at times with her feelings. She cant make up her mind at all. I am happy to see Cecilia around and hope she teaches Gambit a thing or two. We all know that wont happen though, but its a nice bit of change in my mind.

This. I like CeCe but I have to say that if Liu was trying to make me believe they have chemistry as a couple and not just friends then she's done a pretty poor job of it. She had the chance to show us why one or the other would ask the other out on these friday night dinners in one scene or two, either in Astonishing or previously in X-23. Instead she jumped whole hog into this we've been hanging out together for dinner every week for a month bit and all I did was go like I did about Rogue and Magneto mess and think why? So why didn't we see it developed better and what do they actually talk about (the only difference is I can actually think of things CeCe and Gambit could laugh and joke and talk about when I can't think of anything Magneto and Rogue would).

Right now to me CeCe seems more to have replaced Storm (whos been absent and unconcerned from any of her friends including Gambit since her marriage anyway) as professional female friend Gambit can actually talk and joke with outside the X-Men, give him some different perspective, and not be romantic. Given I think the worst thing that could happen to CeCe as a character is for her to given up her being a doctor to be an X-Man, that's a prefectly fine role for her to now and then get dragged into a mission but it better not be all the time or it becomes stupid for her to complain.

I'm happy to see Gambit date around for some time to come in his own book adn to me there is nothing I've seen between him and CeCe that comes across as romantic. If anything her bitching about not seeing him as a teacher and supposedly making him "give back so painiting he stole" which he likely was going to give back anyway if he told her about it, just proves to me that's like with most of his relationships, he's the better friend by letting her vent than she is to him.

Liu said Gambit and Cece would be circling each other and that is just what she has shown. Circling to me means there may be some attraction there but ultimately they are both taking things slow and just enjoying each other's company without it being overtly romantic/sexual. She is focusing on Northstar and Kyle so my guess is if it ends up being more than circling, she will develop that when the situation calls for it.
